Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team at Novena Hospital. In this role, you will provide social services to patients and their families, helping them navigate the emotional, social, and financial challenges related to medical conditions. You will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients throughout their healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ and families’ psychosocial needs and provide counseling and support.
• Assist with discharge planning, including linking patients to community resources, financial assistance, and aftercare services.
• Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Advocate for patients’ rights and access to healthcare services.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing mental health distress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements:

• A recognized Degree or Master's in Social Work (MSW)
• Registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW)
• At least 1-2 years of experience in medical social work or a related field (fresh graduates may also apply).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
• Empathetic, patient, and passionate about making a difference in patients' lives.
• Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and confidentiality.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday, Office Hours (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM)
• No night shifts or weekends required.
