Job Summary
M Diagnostics is a CAP- accredited clinical laboratory. We provide clinical services to our clients. The Medical Technologist will perform laboratory tests, assist in receiving, processing samples and carry out specialized investigation of patient samples. In addition, you will perform on-going quality control checks to ensure test results are precise and accurate. The role requires the individual to have a high level of attention to detail, be proactive and work well under pressure.
*Medical Technologist (I/II/Senior) title will commensurate with experience.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and process patient specimens for analysis following established SOPs.
- Perform moderate to high complexity molecular-based tests, including RT-qPCR and NGS, ensuring accuracy and adherence to laboratory standards.
- Participate in the development, optimization, and validation of molecular assays for diagnostic and research purposes.
- Ensure assays meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards, documenting all processes comprehensively.
- Perform daily quality control (QC) checks, instrument calibrations, and preventive maintenance as per CAP and ISO 15189 standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with instruments or assays to minimize downtime.
- Verify the accuracy of laboratory test results, ensuring timely and compliant reporting.
- Maintain accurate records of sample workflows, QC data, and validation reports for audits and accreditation.
- Contribute to improving laboratory workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Support automation initiatives and digitalization efforts for process optimization.
- Periodically review and update laboratory procedures to align with technological advancements and regulatory updates.
- Ensure compliance with GCP, GLP, and local regulations for all lab operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, bioinformatics, and quality assurance, to support projects and troubleshooting.
- Mentor and train junior staff in molecular techniques and laboratory best practices.
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Biomedical Science, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or Life Sciences, with specialization in molecular diagnostics preferred.
- Proficient in molecular techniques, including RT-qPCR, NGS library preparation, DNA/RNA extraction, and quantification.
- Experienced in assay development, optimization, and validation for clinical applications.
- Good understanding in interpreting molecular testing results.
- Familiarity with CAP, ISO 15189, and GCP/GLP guidelines, including quality systems and documentation practices.
- At least 3 years of hands-on molecular laboratory experience, preferably in a clinical or diagnostic setting.
- Proven track record in optimizing workflows and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle high-throughput testing in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communicator and team player with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Able to attend afternoon shifts occasionally, typically between 1:00pm to 9:00pm (shift allowance will be provided)
- Able to attend Saturday shifts as part of rotational schedule
- Flexibility in working hours as required to meet operational needs.
