A) Maintenance of Personal Hygiene of the Residents
· To supervise/help residents to go through the hand washing regime before meals.
· To bathe the frail and weak residents at the hot water shower room.
· To supervise the bathing of residents daily.
· To remove soiled clothes to the laundry for washing and fetch clean clothes from the Linen Room
· To see that residents are properly attired and are clean at all times.
· To assist non-ambulant and semi-ambulant residents with their toilet and other needs.
· To ensure that residents have regular haircut, shave, and their nails trimmed, neat and nice.
B) Maintenance and Cleanliness of the Home
· To maintain the overall cleanliness of the Home.
· To clean up the dining halls and dormitories after every meal.
· To clean utensils and the dining hall.
· To wash, mop or vacuum dry and disinfect dormitories.
· To check toilets at regular intervals and to ensure they are clean and in good condition.
· To wipe beds and bed boards daily with antiseptic.
· To clean/sun bed pans after every use.
· To clean bedside table at regular intervals.
· To spray insecticide and to debug bed boards, bed frames, etc at regular intervals.
· To do area cleaning with high pressure cleaner daily.
· To cut grass and water the plants daily.
· To collect rubbish in plastic bags for disposal at the Bin Centre for daily collection by vehicles of the Public Waste Collector appointed by the National Environment Agency.
· To ensure that all working tools are properly stored after use and to make sure residents do not have access to them.
· Helps to maintain a clean, safe and neat environment for the residents.
C) Other needs of the Residents
· To refer residents’ medical problems to Nursing Staff on duty and in their absence to the Operation Executive on duty.
· To escort residents to hospital/clinic for appointments.
· To distribute drinking water to non-ambulant and semi-ambulant residents.
· To ensure that residents receive and have their meals at designated areas.
· To patrol the dormitories at regular intervals and attend to the needs of the residents.
· In the event of death, to inform the Welfare Officer on duty and to screen off the dead resident until the arrival of ambulance and police.
· To identify the dead resident’s body at the mortuary as and when required.
· To perform any other duties as directed by the Superintendent or any other officer duly authorised to do so.
