The Role
The Perse School (Singapore), is seeking for a School Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing healthcare services to students, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being while at school. The nurse plays a key role in managing and promoting health education, addressing medical needs, and responding to health emergencies.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Provide medical support for the whole school.
- Maintain and replenish medical supplies, including first aid kits, according to standard requirements.
- Ensure all medical equipment in the school wellness centre is functioning properly.
- Conduct examinations of unwell students or staff members who require immediate medical attention.
- Administer care according to established medical standards and protocols.
- Inform parents and school administrators about students' conditions and updates on their health status.
- Coordinate the transfer of students or staff to the nearest hospital’s Emergency Ward, following standard procedures, and ensure parents are notified to meet at the hospital.
- Maintain accurate records of each medical case attended to.
- Identify students who fall ill frequently or have infectious diseases, and report findings to the school administration for further action.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a registered nurse; pediatric or child health experience preferred.
- Experience working in an international school is preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
This role will start in January 2025.
