STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The Manager is a specialist in a specific area of health services research (HSR) with good understanding of the broad HSR landscape and trend. The Manager will offer both technical & administrative leadership and work closely with other members of a multi-disciplinary team to conduct research, particularly in his/her field of specialty, into the medical, social, economic and ethical implications of health care services to inform policy and medical decision-making as well as provide pragmatic, impactful healthcare solutions for resource planning and operations management.

The Manager will seek to pursue publication and presentation opportunities in peer-reviewed journals and international or local conferences as well as to conduct educational activity to promote and enable health services research in CGH community. The Manager will also be responsible to mentor and develop junior members within the department in his/her area of specialty. · Conduct daily toolbox meeting.

· Conduct routine systematic safety audit / inspections.

· Investigate into any accident/incident which took place within the site/factory and recommend corrective action needed to be taken to prevent recurrence.

· Generating weekly safety reports to management etc.

Key Responsibilities

•Responsible for daily health claims assessment day & operational duties within the team, ensuring valid claims are assessed according to Policy’s terms & benefits and within the claim authority limit.

•To provide accurate and timely assessment of health claims within required service standards.

•Ensure claims are settled within the agreed turnaround time.

•Ensure that pending claims are followed up and managed on a timely basis.

•Ensure that complaints are managed effectively and on a timely basis.

•Provide or support training on claims.

•Provide support, face-to-face meeting and resolve customers and intermediaries’ complaints.

•Provide claims statistics and reporting.

•Comply with regulatory and risk management controls, corporate policies, procedure and claims guidelines.

•Ensure full understanding of Fair Dealing Outcomes and one’s own accountability in delivering these outcomes as applicable to the role.

•Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to the above functional activities.

Requirements

Experience

•Min 2 year working experience in life and health claims department.

•Experience in shield claims is an advantage.

•Good customer service and complaint handling skills.

•Self-motivated and collaborative individual with good communication and interpersonal skills.

•Good organized, focused and able to work independently.

Education

•Diploma/Degree holder

•Insurance professional qualifications and/or nursing qualifications would be an advantage.
