Network Consultant
Responsibilities:
· Lead the design and deployment of network architectures, ensuring alignment with client business goals and technical requirements.
· Provide expert-level consultancy on network architecture design for enterprise data centres, VPN solutions, security infrastructure, and network migrations.
· Develop and review Technical Design Documents (TDDs), Bill of Materials (BOM), and network schematics, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
· Design network solutions that support scalability, security, and redundancy to meet business and operational objectives.
· Act as Lead Network Engineer on large-scale projects, overseeing the planning, design, and implementation phases.
· Facilitate customer kickoff meetings to gather information based on tender specifications and business requirements.
· Propose high-level design solutions and develop detailed technical documentation, including system integration and user acceptance test (UAT) plans.
· Work closely with sales and maintenance teams to manage device procurement, network link provisioning, and coordination with service providers.
· Manage project timelines, milestones, and resource allocation to ensure on- time project delivery.
· Ensure a seamless transition to operations, including conducting knowledge transfer and providing training to Network Operations Centre (NOC) teams.
· Lead the deployment of network security solutions, including VPNs, firewalls, NAC solutions, and authentication protocols (e.g., Cisco ISE, ClearPass, Palo Alto).
· Configure and deploy advanced security technologies such as Cisco AnyConnect VPN, Palo Alto GlobalProtect, Cisco ASA, and Fortinet Firewalls.
· Perform network security assessments, vulnerability management, and remediation of security gaps.
· Integrate network security solutions with third-party tools such as F5 load balancers, Microsoft Intune, and Azure Active Directory for BYOD and guest access management.
Requirements:
· Diploma in computer science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field experience preferred.
· 10+ years’ work experience on IP/Data networking and network security, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role focused on enterprise network design and security.
· Strong knowledge of network security protocols, VPN technologies, firewalls, and access control solutions.
· Expertise in Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls), VPN solutions (AnyConnect, GlobalProtect), and network monitoring tools.
· Experience with Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, Fortinet, and Palo Alto Firewall
· Familiarity with Data Centre network design, high-availability, and multi-site configurations.
· Proficient in IP routing (BGP, OSPF), switching (VLAN, STP), and security protocols (IPsec, SSL/TLS).
· Must be CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CDPSE (Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer) certified.
· Cloud Experience: Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures, including cloud- native networking solutions and cloud security best practices.
· Project Management: Experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, ITIL, PMP).
· Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
