Responsibilities

• Assist to plan and drive Critical / Strategic operations at HQ.

Requirements

Patient Service Associates (PSA) provide frontline counter services to patients. • Responsible for reception of all appointment and walk-in patients at the Diagnostics counters

• Perform phlebotomy, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and spirometry in an accurate, efficient and professional way.

Optimizing the performance of health systems is essential to ensuring the wellbeing and longevity of populations worldwide. Singapore is particularly well placed to lead research in this field as its health system has been consistently ranked as one of the best in the world based in independent evaluation with the Global Burden of Disease data. The new Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP) aims to advance research in this area within the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as the leading centre for research in health systems in Asia with the following core functions:

1. Research: empirical and methodological research and evidence synthesis on health systems performance with a particular focus on Value Based Healthcare.
2. Health policy intelligence: health policy impact analysis aimed at policy makers, service providers, researchers, and the wider public.
3. Capacity building: formal postgraduate programme (from certificates to PhD), fellowships, mentoring, on-the- job and ad hoc training

The Research Associate will have the following duties:

Research Assistant/Associate Policy Analyst – Population Health

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a Research Assistant/Associate Policy Analyst. The rapid population ageing in Singapore calls for innovative solutions. We aim to assess the impact of health promotion programmes (e.g. urban care farming, cognition training, etc) on the health and health-related behaviours of participants. This project will involve recruitment, assessment, and analysis of the research data. The candidate will also be working on models in policy evaluation. This is a full-time position based in Singapore.

Duties may include but are not limited to: (1) provide programming support to a research project (2) assist with recruitment and data analyses; (3) manage large complex databases; (4) conduct literature reviews (5) contribute to the development of scientific papers and the dissemination of the study findings.

The appointed candidate should: (1) Hold at least a bachelor degree (2) be proficient in Stata or R and (3) have experience in statistics, mathematics, econometrics, computer science, quantitative social science, public health, epidemiology or related field. Experience with C++ is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to query large data sets and have excellent knowledge of quantitative methods in applied health and/or social sciences. Fluency in English, as well as demonstrably good writing and analytic skills are essential. The Postdoctoral Fellow will play a critical role in the development of the Centre’s research to support health policy and services research in Singapore and the region, gaining the opportunity to work with leading experts and policy makers in the field. As well as conducting and disseminating research on health economics and equity through journal publications, the successful candidate will be expected to submit research grant proposals, perform research administration, mentor junior research staff, and be involved in capacity building through conducting workshops for local and regional participants and supporting relevant training activities (e.g. short courses, co-supervision of masters dissertation students). Job Description

The Singapore Population Health Studies (SPHS) is a population-based health research initiative at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore. SPHS aims to investigate the interactions between lifestyle, physiological, genetic and other omics biomarkers and their impact on health and longevity. In addition, SPHS will serve as a platform to monitor risk factors in the population and gain insight into determinants of health-related behaviours. For this purpose, SPHS includes over 50,000 adult Singaporeans and long-term residents from three major ethnic groups (Chinese, Malay, and Indian), for a better understanding of disease aetiology in urban Asian settings, and the development of improved preventive and therapeutic measures for Singapore and other Asian populations.

JOB PURPOSE
This role primarily involves the recruitment and data collection activities of the research projects under the SPHS unit that will contribute towards the building of a population health research biobank for Singapore.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Take consent from research participants before performing any research procedures
2. Perform basic assessments that include measurements of blood pressure and visual acuity, fundus photography etc. and enter data into the correct electronic form via a tablet. Keep to a turnaround time of 8-10min per participant.
3. Perform spirometry and keep to a turnaround time of 10-15min per participant.
4. Minimise the waiting of participants by directing them to next most available test station.
5. Encourage participants to perform procedures to meet the required standards to ensure that the data output is good to use for research.
6. Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
7. Account for the inventory levels of consumables.
8. Conduct/undergo in periodic re-assessment of techniques to maintain consistency of image and data acquisition for standardisation
9. Ensure the safety and protect the privacy of research participants by adhering to best practices.
10. Perform data entry and data checks.
11. Any other responsibilities as required by future research projects.

Qualifications

1. A background in biomedical science, optometry or nursing is preferred
2. Diploma, NITEC or degree qualifications with a good command of spoken English and Mandarin/Malay (for interacting with non English speaking participants)
3. Work hours are: 7.45am to 6.15pm on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri; and 7.45am to 3.15pm on alternate Sat.
