The Position
- Lead the technical implementation of the species strategy for ROPU ASKAN to achieve business objectives and customer satisfaction, under strategic guidance of the ROPU ASKAN Business Segment Head.
- Provide excellent technical services to strategic accounts and key customers in the ROPU, in partnership with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and/or Regional Strategic Account Manager (RSAM), contributing to build stronger commercial relationships with the said key accounts.
- Has the responsibility in the collection, analysis and the provision of relevant scientific information in swine for the Regional Operating Unit (ROPU) AH business organization and other stakeholders.
- Develop regional or overview local technical life cycle management (LCM) actions, scientific trials, post marketing authorization data collection for the swine portfolio.
- Acts as the regional knowledge expert for portfolio solutions such as Integrated Health Management and Needleless technology (FreVax).
- Build and maintain a broad network of relationships with international, regional and local key opinion leaders and (technical) experts, respected practitioners, for the benefit of strategy implementation in the ROPU.
- Continuously train and support the local swine technical teams in the ROPU countries in the proper handling of customer technical issues, building and implementing the necessary plans to constantly upskill them.
- Lead technical communication and sharing of knowledge and experience within and beyond ASKAN.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensuring strong technical contribution to ROPU Strategy execution:
- Supports the implementation of ROPU ASKAN swine strategy in close collaboration with the ROPU ASKAN Business Segment Head, leading relevant technical initiatives
- Provide technical support to the technical colleagues and key customers in the ROPU
- Support product launch processes, including training on new products, in collaboration with ROPU Business Segment Head
- Assessment of competitor activities and evaluation of competitor products from a technical marketing perspective, outlining technical points of defense, in collaboration with ROPU Business Segment Head
- Contribute to Strategic Account Management from a technical perspective in collaboration with RSAM
- Responsible for exchange of technical information regarding the available products in the ROPU; including technical papers
- Indirectly responsible for portfolio solutions such as Integrated Health Management and Needleless technology (FreVax)
Provide expert guidance and support on swine health, production, nutrition, and management practices to strategic accounts and key customers in the ROPU:
- In partnership with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and/or Regional Strategic Account Manager (RSAM), conduct on-site visits to farms and facilities to assess production practices, diagnose issues, and recommend improvements.
- Work closely with Key Account Managers (KAMs) and/or Regional Strategic Account Manager (RSAM) to identify challenges, develop strategies and provide feedback on customer needs and industry trends.
- Contribute to build stronger commercial relationships with the said key accounts
Improving Technical capabilities of our people:
- Provide in-depth technical trainings and consultations regarding the swine portfolio to relevant ROPU country colleagues.
- Communicate data from studies and other technical information to internal swine community, technical colleagues, as necessary.
- Ensure development of skills and abilities through ongoing feedback, coaching and training/development opportunities of local technical colleagues.
- Coordinate and act as Technical contact point for the ROPU with Global Strategic Marketing Team (GSM) including Technical Services of GSM.
Managing Technical Studies/trials and Publications:
- Initiate, co-ordinate and follow up on field trials within ROPU countries. Ensure proper documentation (such as proper study number) is in place.
- Lead post-marketing authorization studies, diagnostics, case investigations & training in collaboration with the regional & local veterinarians
- Adapt the strategy for post-marketing authorization studies in line with the marketing plans for the ROPU, design each study with appropriate input from other stakeholders, work with other stakeholders to run the study and turn the output into, marketing material (e.g. peer review publications, etc)
- Write/contribute to/review proposed publications by regional or local technical teams as per expected high level standards.
Scientific Management and representation:
- KOL Management:
- Contributes to the internal and external KOL management strategy for the swine portfolio, steer the management of KOL relationships in the ROPU and own/co-own/support the partnerships
- Scientific Events:
- Attend internal and external meetings/congresses related to the swine industry
- Contribute/attend/organize internal and external meetings/congresses related to the swine industry
- Establishing good connections in scientific community, seen as respected leader
- Present as required/as invited in scientific congresses
Requirements
- Veterinarian with experience in the Swine industry is a must-have
- Minimum 5 years experience in Swine Industry
- Broad knowledge about swine; Good understanding of regulatory environments in the different countries, as well as pharmacovigilance requirements.
- Strong business mindset; In-depth technical knowledge of relevant clinical areas; Capable of managing a substantial amount of scientific information
- Strong business mindset
