Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
2. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts monthly to maintain accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Audit Coordination: Prepare documentation for external auditors and assist in running audits.
4. Cost Management: Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
5. Compliance: Ensure all financial records meet established standards and criteria.
6. Tax Preparation: Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
7. General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 6 years of experience in accounting or a related field, with a preference for those with leadership experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and excellent communication skills.

• Vessel Management

1. Assist to oversee the technical operations of the managed fleet, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimal vessel performance.
2. Assist in the technical management of IMO 2 vessels, ensuring they meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
3. Monitor and maintain the performance of the vessels, including machinery, equipment, and overall seaworthiness.
4. Advising and arranging with the Master and Chief Engineer of planned maintenance and works to be carried out
5. Ensuring that the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) is implemented effectively and regularly updated.
6. Support routine maintenance planning, defect rectification, and inventory management for spare parts and consumables.
   

• Shipyard & Dry Docking Operations

1. Coordinate and oversee shipyard activities, including planning and executing dry-docking, repair, and major refit projects, which may require travel to overseas port & shipyards.
2. Prepare dry-dock specifications, evaluate quotations, and supervise the execution of repair work to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
3. Ensure timely completion of shipyard projects, adhering to budgets and company standards.
4. Carrying out a complete general inspection of the vessel and reporting with a observation list or defect list.
   

• Compliance & Regulatory

1. Ensure vessels are compliant with IMO, Class, Flag State, and Port State requirements, including safety and environmental standards.
2. Assist in audits, inspections, and surveys (internal and external) to maintain vessel certifications.
3. Stay updated on the latest industry regulations and implement necessary changes.
   

• Cost Control & Budgeting

1. Assist in preparing technical budgets and monitoring actual costs versus budgeted amounts.
2. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety and operational standards.
   

• Team Coordination

1. Liaise with the ship’s crew, ensuring technical issues are communicated effectively and resolved promptly.
2. Work closely with the purchasing, crewing, and operations teams to ensure smooth vessel operations.
3. Provide technical guidance and support to the onboard crew and junior technical staff.
   

• Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in technical management, with hands-on experience in IMO 2 vessels and shipyard operations.
3. Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, repair, dry-docking, and regulatory compliance.
4. Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ship management software.
7. Willingness to travel to shipyards and vessels when required.

Preferred:

• Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer experience on IMO 2 vessels.
• Experience in chemical/product tanker operations and major shipyard projects.
• Familiarity with ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other international maritime conventions.

Job Scope

Responsible for several duties such as: Processing of payments and financial transactions to suppliers and obtaining goods and services from suppliers promptly. Liaising with finance officers and suppliers concerning stock management, financial records and accounts.

Verify invoices against (purchase) orders and ensure the goods or services were received before issuing payment to their vendors.
