System Engineer

Job Description

• High availability data centre administration experience with both Windows and Linux systems.
• Keeps track of vulnerabilities and applies the most recent security kernel fixes for Windows and Linux servers.
• Have experience on hardening of RHEL 7.9 servers.
• Expertise in upgrading servers from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8
• Implemented sudo whitelist commands for application vendors' accounts and system administrators' accounts.
• Realtime experience in VMware vSphere 8.0 and experienced in Managing Virtual Machines, new VM Builds, Cloning and Templates in VMware.
• Performed updates to VMware tools for virtual machines running Linux and Windows.
• Have hands-on experience with VMware ESXi host patching activities.
• Performing VM Snapshots creation and removal based on retention period for patching activities.
• Involved in VM Migration activities (Cold and Hot Migrations, vMotion, Storage vMotion).
• To diagnose issues with physical Dell servers, analyze the storage and server characteristics.
• Experience in troubleshooting hardware issues and coordinating with product vendors through datacenter operations.
• Worked diligently on the yearly data center power outage activities.
• Solid understanding of Veeam backup setup and restoration protocols.
• Have performed troubleshooting tasks such as recovering and cracking root passwords.
• Monitoring servers through nimbus software.
• Script development knowledge for extracting monthly account reviews

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitoring all staff request for external courses daily
• Manage the data entry requirements in Frontier to enable the course application process (data search on course websites, obtain and fill in personal data into the system)
• Establish a timeline of action with the applicant
• Monitor the L&D mailbox and reply in accordance to SOP or divert the enquiries to appropriate staff
• Conduct data collation for KPI dashboards

• Assist programme manager in administrative duties

1. Able to work midnight shift

2. Able to Standby 24x7, Must be able to report for work on short notice at times.

3. Able to work OT including weekends and public holidays.

4. Able to work in islandwide locations, and able to go to multiple locations daily.

5. Excellent customer service skills and able to interact well with clients

6. At least 1 year’s experience in similar role in cleaning sector
