POSITION PURPOSE

This individual is responsible for managing a team of production employees and packaging material resources to meet customer order fulfillment. Responsible for production planning activities to optimize the manpower & material resources in meeting customers on-time delivery.

This incumbent manages all the production (after the BFS process) aspects of the company.

NATURE AND SCOPE

A. Report Relationship – This position reports directly to the Director of Operations.

B. General Department Overview - responsible for managing a team of production employees and packaging material resources in meeting customer order fulfillment. And responsible for production planning activities to optimize manpower & material resources.

Job Scope

• Manage and execute project in cost effective, on time delivery with quality standards to meets client expectations;
• Managing the projects in accordance to our Company’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 Standards and contractual requirements;
• Pre and post-contract stages from vetting tender documents, organizing tender activities as well as settlement of accounts with owner, sub-contracts / suppliers;

• Close supervision of work carried out by sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to project schedule;
• Ensure highest quality on the work carried by the sub-contractor, fabricators and suppliers;
• Liaise with consultants, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers on the implementation of the projects;
• Check on the progress claim submitted by the sub-contractors;
• Monitor, track, report project progress, supervise Engineers, Supervisor, Technicians and sub-contractors’ on site;
• Follow-up on the defective work and ensure timely rectification by contractors, fabricators and suppliers;

Job Requirement

• Recognised Degree by BCA in Civil Engineering.
• 10 years’ experience in Civil Engineering Projects, especially in Marine Construction of Jetty, Wharf, Harbour, Dredging, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Review customers forecast and order, then propose loading in ERP
• Liaise and follow up with customers on delivery plan
• Monitor and work with Purchasing and production to expedite materials and production plan
• Minimise shipment backlogs and maintain inventory at optimal level

Key equipment includes a 8.5 m dual-side fibre drawing tower, a Modified Chemical Vapour Deposition (MCVD) fibre preform lathe hosted in 200 m2 of cleanroom space. The facility also includes 300 m2 of dedicated chemical preparation area for glass etching and machining, advanced fibre processing and characterisation systems, including Bragg grating engraving/cutting, fusion splicing, thermogravimetric and thermomechanical analysers, lithography and etching. Characterisation relies on spectrophotometry, high-frequency network analysis, SNOM and electro-optic microcharacterisation.

A Facility Manager (FM) is required to support fibre fabrication activities at NTU. The FM should address any problems or issues that arise during fibre fabrication in the lab and proactively assist those using the facility.
