The Client Services role contributes to asset gathering, enhancing client engagement, identifies operational efficiencies opportunity, and differentiates through technology and, ultimately improving the client experience. You will also execute the Operations’ strategy and modernize the client experience.

You are expected to provide clear direction and leadership, whilst driving your team forward in promoting staff development and process improvement whilst also providing efficient service-level reporting and performance metrics.

Keys to this strategic role include a proactive and self-motivated attitude, strong communication skills, a thorough understanding of mutual fund Shareholder Servicing/Transfer Agent operations, and experience in selling/implementing technology and service solutions.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Plan and lead the end to end process of implementation & transition events including client onboarding and change, asset take-on / take-off activities, and account terminations.

• Project-management approach to client onboarding & change events including complex portfolio structures across the asset classes.
• Partner with Shareholder Services team colleagues and in some instances sales organization to ensure a seamless client onboarding from front to back and liaise with multiple parties to bring about execution of a transaction
• Communicate with internal & external parties and teams, provide advice and consulting with all participant parties on all aspects of onboarding and change events.
• Ensure due diligence is performed on new clients to comply with “Know Your Customer” regulations
• Develop expertise in the Firm's Anti Money Laundering/Customer Identification Program due diligence policies involving country specific requirements
• Satisfy the responsibility for completing detailed reviews of documentation for existing clients, including legal agreements and organizational documents
• Becoming commercially aware and understand the nature of the business you participate in while at the same time ensuring consistent adherence to all Goldman Sachs CIP standards
• Displaying a strong ability to influence the Asset management business by serving as a liaison between Anti-Money Laundering Compliance and Sales teams
• Engage in opportunities to review processes, analyze information, make recommendations, and implement and monitor procedure enhancements
• Proactively review indicators of operational issues/concerns with the goal of resolving such issues before client impact
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail to enable the ability to communicate complex items to a wide array of internal counterparties
• Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects, and has strong organizational skills to effectively manage competing priorities
• Flexible and able to work well under pressure in a team environment

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year financial industry experience (AML / KYC or other Client Onboarding Regulatory experience a plus)
• Highly motivated and results orientated
• Have a high level of self-initiative to challenge and improve processes
• Strong understanding of risk and control framework in operations
• Has strong interpersonal skills to establish Business and Federation relationships
• Able to manage multiple tasks or projects and manage deadlines effectively
• Strong team player

Preferred Qualifications

• Business level in both written and spoken Mandarin to cover different markets and deal with existing clients to comply with AML/KYC regulations and interact with our external stakeholders

Job Responsibilities:

This is a regional HQ role, and the person will work as an individual contributor, reporting into the Operational Risk Governance team within ARMO-ORM (Risk Management Office for Asia – Operational Risk Management). The person will be responsible for supporting overall operational risk governance enhancement to realise effective 2nd line oversight to regional branches in APAC (excl. Japan and China). Main job responsibilities include but not limited to;

• Support overall annual Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Controls Testing exercise through review and challenge across APAC branches, including governance and oversight of frameworks
• Support Self-Identified Issues (SII) management in APAC region. This includes management of overall framework, conducting training and awareness sessions, issues consolidation and reporting
• Support in organising and providing 2nd line review of the APAC Regional Risk Management Committee (RMC) materials for operational risk topics
• Manage and coordinate annual Global Control Self-Assessment (GCSA) exercise for all APAC branches and support initiatives for future enhancement in collaboration with Tokyo Head Office
• Maintain and analyse Key Risk Indicator (KRI) and Risk Dashboard from regional SMEs (Subject Matter Expert)
• Support management of Risk Champion model in APAC region, including updates of materials and conducting training sessions
• Support 1st line business units as appointed Risk Partner in operational risk matters including review of Third-Party Risk Management assessments
• Work closely with regional SMEs and Branches to enhance risk management tools and frameworks
• Provide guidance and support to APAC branches in operational risk matters and complying with local regulatory requirements

Second Line for Operational Risk Management will include but not limited to;

Operational Risk Governance and Strategy

• Develop, review and maintain the Operational Risk Management Governance frameworks, processes and methodologies in line with regulatory requirements, MUFG policies, and industry best practices
• Support the roll-out of regional standards to APAC branches to uplift the branch operational risk management, enabling branches to manage operational risk in a standardized and systematic manner
• Support to develop and implement region wide initiatives to embed sound risk culture

Risk Management and Audit

• Monitor open issues (incl. regulatory and audit issues, SII), identify high risk issues, review remediation actions and report to management and key committees
• Conduct ongoing review and challenge as 2nd line, through review of operational risk metrics (KRIs), RCSA, risk event, incident to identify systemic/thematic risk concerns that warrant deeper analysis and escalation to senior management
• Work with 1st line / relevant Function Units / APAC branches to implement necessary operational risk management tools and provide regular training and education
• Ensure proper operational risk system implementation and adherence to reporting rules and guidelines
• Support in organising and preparing the presentation for regional risk management committee

General

• Support in executing necessary training on policies and standards
• Work in partnership with Head Office, various branches and departments to support the implementation of global, regional and local projects
• Provide advisory for various operational risk management activities

Job Requirements:

• At least 1 year of relevant hands-on experience in operational risk management especially in the area of RCSA, Controls Testing and Issues Management. Experience in Financial service, regional role .
• Experience in KRIs, risk metrics development and operationalization
• Experience in relevant operational risk regulations in the Asian region and understanding of industry trends/best practices and knowledge of operational risk standards
• Relevant experience in Operational Risk System Infrastructure implementation (OpenPage) for various Operational Risk modules; KRIs, Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Issue Management of Self-Identified Issues (SII) will be a strong plus
• Good communication skills to build effective partnership with key stakeholders through various collaboration / negotiation
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and takes initiatives to collaborate and challenge status quo, and adaptable to embrace new changes
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Self-driven individual with good attention to detail and accuracy
