Responsible for the management of a team of buyers & planners who develop and implement a master production schedule that is linked to the monthly sales and operation plan. Plans and establishes production schedules, maintains supplier schedules, monitors material inventories and works in collaboration with the Inventory and Warehouse Manager. Tracks production progress, reviews factors which affect production and recommends remedial action. Lead the team to perform daily tasks associated with ordering and expediting of components, packaging materials, raw materials, invoicing, managing safety stocks, quality and VRMA activities, Responsible for ensuring that all timelines related to the supply chain are adhered to and proceed in an efficient manner to ensure on time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Main Job Duties:
1. Accountable for the Strategic Supply Chain Material Planning including the Materials, Inventory, Procurement, Planning and Analysis
2. Drive material forecast accuracy and inventory stocking program by means of evaluating plant capacity to meet both short and long term supply-demand forecasts, and integrate these requirements into master scheduling & planning
3. Ensure efficient work partnership with Engineering, Production, Finance, IT & Legal teams etc to mitigate any supply chain issues
4. Review Purchasing strategy periodically with Management to propose change when market trend changes
5. Liaison with Strategic Sourcing in management activities with key suppliers. Participate in supplier QBR’s as needed.
6. Monitors Syteline data, inventory reports, and other data resources to determine proper on hand quantities and proper system settings.
7. Maintain accuracy of the daily supplier schedules to achieve production plans to meet customer requirements.
8. Maintain accuracy of the daily production schedules for all departments to set achievable targets.
9. Use capacity planning tools to make necessary recommendations to the Production team to change production rates and/or line configurations with available labor.
10. Develop and maintain rules of engagement for order management including master scheduling policy.
11. Develops and maintains Master Production Schedule to ensure past due orders are minimized.
12. Provide periodic production/shipping performance updates against established goal.
13. Evaluate the impact of expedited orders on the production plan and provide feedback to CSS’s.
14. Participate in scheduling of new products (samples, first production runs, etc.)
15. Assesses performance, analyzes sales orders and forecasts and communicates risks to the organizations while recommending corrective actions.
16. Conduct periodic supplier meetings; engage in supplier report cards.
17. Liaison with engineering team as needed on Blue Folders & New Materials.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
· Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities. Able to evaluate situations, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
· Must have strong computer skills and be proficient using Excel. Ability to use Microsoft Products. Must be familiar with ERP, DRP, MRP, MRPII, or other formal computerized inventory system. Use of Access, Crystal Reports or other formal data retrieval and report writing is a plus.
· Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment.
