The Asia Research Institute invites outstanding, active researchers from around the world to work on an important piece of Asia-centred research in the social sciences or humanities.

Apart from the quality of the research proposal, and the applicant’s publication track record, positions will be awarded on the basis of the relationship of their research topic to the identified priorities and themes of the cluster.

The Science, Technology, and Society (STS) Cluster concentrates on the relationship between those three domains in and beyond Asian settings, and their intersections with the environment in the past, present and future.

The cluster currently brings together a diverse, interdisciplinary group of researchers who work on the following research themes:

i) climate change and carbon governance;

ii) planetary health and ‘Asian medicines’;

iii) energy transitions, infrastructure and space;

• Knowledge in Chip Package Interaction (CPI)
• Experience and working knowledge with 2.5D/3D heterogeneous integration technologies such as WLFO, SoIC, CoWoS, WoW, InFO, and other chiplet/SiP architectures is a plus
• Experience with wafer bumping, package assembly, substrate technology, BOM selection, testing and product development lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners
• Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding multi-functional teams and driving technical excellence

What you'll do:

As a Manager, you will leverage your subject matter expertise in Technology Policy to deliver significant value to our clients through proposal development, project design and implementation, expert advisory, and relationship management. Understanding both the public policymaking process and tech and digital policy issues faced by corporate technology businesses across APAC, you will design and provide advisory services on strategy, policy and regulation, at a national, regional and international level.

Leading small project teams or working as an experienced individual contributor on larger, cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality work that exceeds client expectations. You will build strong client relationships identify new opportunities and contribute to account growth. It is expected that you will develop a personal, expert brand, representing the expertise of yourself and the company at conferences and external events where opportunities arise.

More specifically, you will:

• Provide strategic advice and innovative solutions to help clients address complex tech and digital policy challenges, achieving their national, regional or multilateral objectives
• Contribute to the design and delivery of innovative solutions based on industry insights, comparative research
• Build trusted relationships with clients to understand their needs and identify opportunities to drive greater value and impact
• Lead and oversee strategic research and analysis. Direct, develop, and contribute to comprehensive research initiatives, position papers, and policy briefs, ensuring they provide in-depth analysis and critical insights with an aim of influencing key stakeholders and driving business objectives
• Proactively Monitor and Advise on Regional Policy and Regulatory Developments
• Actively monitor, assess, and provide strategic advice on key policy and regulatory matters within the APAC region
• Enhance Regional Public Policy and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute strategies to engage with relevant policymakers, regulators, and key stakeholders throughout the Southeast Asia region, and beyond.
• Contribute subject matter expertise to proposals and pitches to win new engagements
• Lead project teams and manage projects to deliver outstanding results for clients, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and performance milestones
• Foster strong collaboration with colleagues across practices to deliver integrated client solutions
• Develop high-impact presentations, reports, proposals, and other client deliverables
• Attend and present at conferences and workshops

What you’ll need:

• Demonstrable subject matter expertise in Technology/Digital/AI/Data or similar Policy and regulation (either good broad coverage across multiple topics, or detailed knowledge of some areas).
• Extensive experience leading the design and delivery of complex, high-impact policy/regulatory engagements
• Experience building trusted client relationships across the APAC region, delivering value, shaping high profile engagements, and contributing to business development
• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to senior stakeholders
• Strong project management and ideally people management experience, particularly of international, and geographically dispersed teams
