• Sharing learning on technical issues, as gained from operational experience within the fleet and knowledge from industry best practices & new regulatory requirements; with vessels and Technical Departments.
• Review & revise technical procedures for simplification and updating with latest experience and knowledge.
• Formulate technical alerts & circulars and contribute to periodic presentation sessions, for knowledge sharing.
• Audits of technical departments to ensure compliance to standards (provisions under HSSEQ, TMSA & Rightship).
• Identify deficiencies & scopes for improvement in compliance, and recommend measures for improvement.

Technical support

• To extend support to technical departments in following areas, based on requirements:

o Troubleshooting

o General advice on technical issues relating to engineering and regulatory issues

o Vessel repairs

o Conversion projects

o Compliance with new regulations

• New technologies for energy savings & environment protection

Education and qualification

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering with 10 years of experience in marine industry.

Experience

• Marine Engineering background with experience in one or more of following areas:
• Sailing experience as a Senior Engineer on merchant vessels
• Experience as Vessel Manager or Technical Superintendent
• Shipyard experience as Repair/Project Manager
• Experience as Classification Society Surveyor

Your responsibilities will include integrating IT services with Maritime internet / communications satellite technology to deliver seamless connectivity and managed services to our maritime clients. This role requires deep technical expertise in IT infrastructure, networking, cloud services, and satellite communications, as well as the ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Design and Architecture

• Develop comprehensive IT and network solutions tailored to maritime clients, integrating with marine internet, communication systems, and specialized maritime applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and sales teams to design robust, scalable, and secure IT solutions that meet both business objectives and client needs.
• Provide technical leadership in defining architectural frameworks, ensuring solutions aligning with industry best practices and adhering to regulatory standards.

Product & Service Development

• Design and optimize IT products and services for maritime environments, with a focus on managed IT services, remote monitoring, cloud integration, cybersecurity, satellite connectivity integration, and data analytics.
• Lead technical evaluations and feasibility studies for new IT products, assessing compatibility with satellite communication systems and onboard technologies.
• Define detailed product specifications to ensure that solutions meet both operational efficiency and client-specific requirements.

Customer Engagement and Requirements Gathering

• Engage with maritime customers to identify their requirements, operational challenges, and specific pain points, translating them into actionable technical requirements.
• Conduct solution presentations, technical workshops, and demonstrations to communicate the value of proposed solutions to customers effectively.
• Develop comprehensive documentation, proposals, and customer-facing materials that clearly convey the solution architecture and associated benefits.

Integration and Implementation

• Lead the implementation of IT solutions, coordinating closely with customer teams, project managers, and technical staff to ensure timely delivery and seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
• Configure and integrate new solutions with onboard IT systems, network connectivity, and customer shore-side infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during integration, collaborating across functions to ensure the final solution meets quality and performance standards.

Technical Leadership and Collaboration

• Stay updated on advancements in satellite communications, IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, and maritime connectivity technologies and regulations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in system integration, IT network design, and connectivity solutions, providing guidance, training, and documentation for engineering and support teams.
• Partner with vendors, industry stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure solutions remain innovative and competitive within the maritime sector.
