MicroSec (www.usec.io) is seeking a motivated, passionate, and tech-savvy Head of Technology to lead our fast-growing IoT & OT Cybersecurity division. The ideal candidate is inherently curious, hands-on, and enthusiastic about technology. This role involves managing the product roadmap, defining features, and overseeing the delivery of our IoT Security Suite. As the Head of Technology, you will lead a team in developing the Microsec product, design solution architectures, craft technical presentations, and collaborate with customers and partners to address their queries effectively.

What you’ll do

• Lead the team in developing the OT cybersecurity product according to the roadmap through Scrum planning and execution
• Conduct code and design reviews
• Manage Cloud infrastructure of Microsec SaaS & PaaS via Kubernetes
• Conducting PoC and sharing prototypes with the team for further implementation
• Create solution architecture for various industry verticals, including Industry 4.0, Energy, Maritime, and Smart city infrastructure
• Collaborate across functions with software systems and technologies, including embedded systems, backend, cloud, Python, UI/UX, and cybersecurity
• Undertake project scoping, manage time, and plan and execute projects effectively
• Oversee the day-to-day operational aspects of the project timeline and scope
• Prepare and gather project requirements and maintain the product backlog
• Work with engineering teams to prioritize development tasks and ensure the timely shipment of high-quality products
• Create solution mapping to various cybersecurity standards including IEC62443, ISO 27001, etc
• Assist in user acceptance testing and quality assurance processes
• Enforce project standards with both internal and external resources
• Prepare, review, and amend technical documentation

Who you are

Basic Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Cybersecurity software developer for at least 3 years
• Extensive experience with Linux and cloud technologies, with the ability to perform or manage changes and bug fixes to the existing codebase, both internally and with external vendors
• Hands-on skills in code review and system/solution architecture design
• Strong understanding of software development, backend systems, machine learning, and Python.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity and computer networks
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies or other project management frameworks; relevant certifications are a plus
• Professional certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the company and strong presentation skills

Experience

• Should have at least 6 years of experience in working with Python, Cloud, Embedded, and IoT related areas. A good foundation in Cybersecurity product suites and technologies
• Cybersecurity software developer for at least 3 years
• Should have experience in leading a technical team for at least 2 years
• Experienced in Agile project management and development
• Proven experience in developing solutions for embedded systems
• Strong strategic capability set with the ability to rigorously define, prioritize, and execute across a complex range of categories, customers, products, and functional groups
• Proficiency in implementing and mapping solutions to cybersecurity standards, including IEC62443 and ISO 27001

Department overview
Nomura is currently in the process of establishing a new Global Sourcing function to operate across Nomura Group companies, regions and functions to deliver an ongoing contribution to cost efficiency and commercial/contract risk mitigation associated with vendor engagements, and drive efficiencies through spend category commercial support, vendor/contract consolidation and Group-wide economies of scale.

Role description
Working as part of a Category team that operates as part of an overall Global Technology Sourcing team. Making an ongoing, tangible contribution to cost efficiency and commercial/contractual risk management, through:

• Supporting the Global Sourcing Category Lead – Network and Infrastructure in developing the overall spend category strategy in partnership with key stakeholders and managing the effective delivery of that strategy
• No direct reports however there will be some workload oversight of, and close collaboration required with members within the Global Sourcing team located in numerous Nomura regions
• Managing and/or providing oversight to category-wide efficiency and governance initiatives
• Effective management and delivery of new deals and renewals, including:

o Influencing the adoption of appropriate sourcing strategies and activities
o Leading RFPs and renewals, including complex and high-profile commercial/contractual negotiations
o Significant interaction with senior internal clients and senior representatives from external vendors
o Creating and presenting impactful deal summaries/recommendations
o Working as part of cross-functional and cross-regional teams
o Maintaining deal pipelines

• Providing a commercial advisory service to key stakeholders
• Meeting or exceeding a range of financial and non-financial performance targets
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders
• Build strong supplier relationships and supplier management programmes; driving initiatives with suppliers in co-ordination with the business and corporate functions
• Making a material contribution to the ongoing development of Nomura’s Global Sourcing function, including policy and procedures
• Providing support and coaching to other members of the Category team with an emphasis on development of the more junior members of the team
• Where applicable, the execution of Business Continuity plans and pro-active operational risk management

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge require

• Degree level qualification or equivalent
• CIPS or other professional Sourcing/Procurement qualification desirable
• Minimum 10+ years of experience of sourcing the relevant spend categories in a blue-chip environment, with some experience of Category Leadership and a proven track record of successfully leading commercial and contract activities, including:

o Supporting the Global Sourcing Category Lead – Network Infrastructure, and leading the development and maintenance of strategic Category-wide plans and initiatives in conjunction with stakeholders
o Portfolio opportunity analysis and subsequent benefit delivery
o Interacting and influencing at senior management level
o Effectively influencing the sourcing strategy for individual projects
o Leading internal/market analysis, competitive bidding and negotiation activities for regional and global agreements, with a range of value and complexity
o Re-negotiation and value extraction from embedded legacy / incumbent suppliers
o Knowledge of the pricing and contracting mechanisms for global enterprise level suppliers
o Excellent understanding of commercial levers and legal terms and conditions relating to Network Infrastructure contracts
o Understanding of different Network Infrastructure services, platforms, licensing arrangements, pricing frameworks
o Ability to identify contractual, operational and commercial risks in particular complex projects and apply mitigation measures without impacting project delivery objectives
o Knowledge of supply market, supplier capabilities, and expected trends at a geographic and global level

• Experience in a Banking environment may be an advantage, but is not essential
• Staff management experience essential and cross-regional team experience an advantage
• Ability to motivate, organise and develop team members
• Strong and experienced commercial and contract negotiator
