General Overview

This position is part of the site Mechanical team that provides technical/maintenance support to the Operation and Project teams in LNG Terminal. He/she would be mainly responsible for overseeing the safe and reliable operations and maintenance of the Terminal assets from the Mechanical discipline perspective.

The incumbent is also responsible for establishing, reviewing and overseeing the relevant mechanical design elements of new build equipment / asset enhancement activities and implementation of minor mechanical engineering projects, while ensuring the overall mechanical integrity of the terminal.

Roles and ResponsibilIties

The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:

• Provide technical/maintenance support and solutions to the terminal operation Teams including supporting the development of maintenance strategy focusing on equipment reliability, compliance, spares inventory requirement, preventive and predictive maintenance programmes and mechanical maintenance procedures for mechanical equipment.
• Lead the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, commissioning and replacement of mechanical static equipment and piping systems.

• Responsible to ensure compliance to applicable regulations/industry best practices, safe to operate, fit for purpose, maintainable and reliable for the site’s modified or newly build mechanical systems (such as marine loading arm, pumps, pressure vessel, safety device , etc).
• Manage and ensure list of statutory equipment (lifting machine, lifting gears, pressure vessel, safety valves, etc) are timely serviced and inspected in accordance to statutory codes and compliance standards
• Perform root cause analysis on equipment failure and provide recommendations to resolve technical issues which may also arise from vibration, RT, UT, oil and other analysis as part of predictive maintenance programmes
• Manage and maintain historical information on static and rotating equipment such as running hours, data statistical information on all plant shut down and loss of production events caused by mechanical systems, engineering documents and review applicable codes and standards for compliance purpose

Job Description:

• Lead metal Additive Manufacturing process, materials and application development and service projects, including material selection, part design, parameterization, prototyping and manufacturing of AM parts
• Scoping, managing, and executing of customer projects within budget and schedule, ensure deliverables, objectives and customer requirements are met
• Provide technical consultation and support to customer enquiries relating to metal AM application
• Operation of metal AM machines and auxiliary equipment, including maintenance, troubleshooting, risk assessment, and managing of AM lab
• Documentation of project reports, engineering reports, technical data, process know-hows; development of SOPs and best practices for AM equipment and processes
• Support market promotion and customer engagement; participate in local or overseas industry exhibitions, tradeshows, conferences, and seminars; facilitate lab tours, demos and presentations
• Provide technical content to support creation of marketing collaterals such as demo parts, product videos, whitepaper, etc.

• Proactively provide engineering support and solutions to relevant department such as manufacturing, customer service, sales, application
• Adhere strictly to job process defined by Makino's QEHS policy Engineering to achieve and comply to Makino quality standard
• Contribute to improve Makino technical core competency through continuous learning and innovation
• Share knowledge with relevant people to help create a knowledge bank and learning organization
• Independently and proactively develop and validate new unique engineering designs
• Mentor and guide junior Engineers/Technical Officers
• New hire is required to undergo specific tests for who are exposed to certain occupational hazards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree / Master / PHD in Engineering, Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace or equivalent
• Min 5 years of working experience with metal Additive Manufacturing process and application development
• Hands-on experience with LMD/DED machine operation
• Proficient in data preparation, CAD/CAM and toolpath generation for LMD/DED process
• Strong understanding of LMD/DED process, materials, and key process variables
• Experience with parameters development, material characterization, or process simulation
• Familiar with metal AM process chain
• Keen on hands-on work
• Fast learner and agile, able to adapt to dynamic work environment
• Able to work independently and self-motivated

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Process Design: Develop and review key process design documents (P&IDs, PFDs, URS, data sheets) to ensure optimal system performance and compliance.
• Drive Safety & Design Excellence: Contribute to safety and design reviews (3D models, HAZOP, DQ) to guarantee robust and safe process designs.
• Manage Project Changes: Oversee site and project change control, ensuring smooth transitions and effective execution of process improvements.
• Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate strong vendor partnerships, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Engage in Quality Risk Assessments: Actively participate in risk assessments to enhance process quality and minimize operational risks.
• Review & Approve Documents: Ensure all relevant technical documents are thoroughly reviewed and approved, maintaining high standards.
• Monitor & Report Progress: Track and report the status of assigned projects and tasks, ensuring transparency and alignment with timelines.
• Coordinate Field Work & Commissioning: Lead and coordinate field work, including commissioning, qualification, and validation activities, ensuring smooth implementation of processes.
• Champion Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Take full ownership of HSE responsibilities in your designated area, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards.
• Solve Process Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues, applying your expertise to maintain smooth operations.
• Manage Deficiencies & Deviations: Effectively address any deficiencies or deviations, working proactively to resolve them.
• Provide Expert Input: Offer Subject Matter Expert (SME) input as needed, driving improvements and operational excellence.
• Support SOP Creation: Contribute to the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
• Ongoing Learning: Complete required training on time, keeping up to date with the latest tools, technologies, and industry standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Degree in Engineering or Science Disciplines
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related field / Pharmaceutical Industry
• Proven track record in following and promoting Safety in all aspects of your role
• Strong process and automation knowledge, adequate knowledge in utility and HVAC
• Project management / coordination experience
• Proactive and self-motivated
• Adequate knowledge on cGMP and other regulatory requirements, guidelines and industry best practices
• Be IT literate and familiar with Microsoft office suite of applications
• Demonstrated proficiency of written and verbal communication skills in English (including technical writing and presentations) with ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and senior management staff

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and complete critical validation activities, including equipment and utilities qualification, facility qualification (aligned with EU Annex 1), and thermal mapping for controlled temperature chambers to ensure precise temperature control and compliance.
• Perform thorough thermal mapping as part of the qualification process for temperature-controlled chambers, ensuring that all temperature conditions are validated according to industry and regulatory standards.
• Develop and support the creation of essential validation documentation, such as Risk Assessments, plans, protocols, and reports.
• Apply a science-driven and risk-based approach to all validation activities.
• Analyze, interpret, and summarize data from thermal mapping and other validation studies to ensure compliance and operational accuracy.
• Investigate and support the resolution of deviations or non-conformities identified during thermal mapping or other validation activities.
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, clients, and corporate functions, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Guarantee the safety, quality, and timely completion of thermal mapping and validation projects.
• Ensure adherence to validation lifecycle processes (e.g., URS, FAT/SAT, commissioning, IO/PQ protocols) and compliance with international regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor`s degree in a science or engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical CQV.
• Strong understanding of validation lifecycle processes and regulatory guidelines.
• Familiarity with industry best practices for equipment and utilities qualification.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• A quick learner with a proactive "Can-do" attitude.
• Exceptional time management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in presentation and facilitation is an advantage.
