JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to maintain, upgrade and manage software, hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Your goal will be to ensure that our client’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Your responsibilities include:

· Manage network servers and technology tools

· Set up accounts and workstations

· Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements

· Troubleshoot issues and outages

· Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls

· Upgrade systems with new releases and models

· Health check reporting

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus

· At least 2 years’ experience in similar capacity as a System Administrator, network administrator or similar role.

REQUIRED SKILL-SET

· Experience with networks (LAN, WAN) and device patch management

· Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery

· Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms

· Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

· Excellent communication skills

Requirements:

• Experience: minimum 4+ years in AWS cloud engineering(L2/L3) roles, specifically in support/operations.
• Must be experience with L2/L3 on GCC and GCP.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in AWS services setup/management (at a min. S3, IAM, EC2, SageMaker, AWS Networking), monitoring tools, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of Databricks platform and managing AWS infrastructure for Databricks on AWS environments.
  • Experience implementing and managing AWS resources on GCC framework for Singapore-based government agencies
• Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect/Developer/DevOps Engineer preferred.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication, and a proactive approach to managing cloud infrastructure and fairly complex customer driven operations processes.

This role requires someone detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in fast-paced cloud environments.

· Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Science, Business IT or its equivalent

· At least 5 years of experience in administration and implementation

· Good knowledge of the following, but not limited to:

o Firewall technologies (high availability, virtual firewall concept)

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technical Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs of vending machines to ensure optimal functionality and timely deployment.
• Investigate field failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

2. Project Implementation

• Actively participate in the implementation of technical projects, adhering to timelines and quality standards.
• Provide technical expertise and support for new machine setups and upgrades.

3. Research and Development (R&D)

• Contribute to the development and testing of new vending machine models, features, and systems.
• Conduct research and development activities as needed to improve existing machines, focusing on enhancing functionality, efficiency, and innovation.
• Provide technical insights and feedback for products tested.

4. Inventory and Technical Store Management

• Oversee the spare parts inventory, including stock tracking, stocktaking, and ensuring adequate supply.
• Supervise the Technical Store's operation, ensuring proper documentation, equipment tracking, and adherence to safety standards.

5. Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare concise technical reports detailing activities, machine performance, and recommendations for improvements.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of administrative and operational reports through the Technical Assistant.

6. Process Improvement and Efficiency

• Identify areas for process optimization, cost savings, and efficiency improvements within technical operations.
• Propose and implement solutions to enhance technical workflows.

7. Team Collaboration and Leadership

• Provide guidance and hands-on support for complex technical tasks, fostering collaboration within the team.
• Conduct training sessions to upskill team members and enhance their technical capabilities.
• Manage and guide the reporting staff, delegating tasks and overseeing their performance in reporting, administrative work, and technical store management.

8. Vendor and Supplier Coordination

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to address field defects and procurement needs.

9. Additional Assignments

• Undertake additional technical responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Nitec in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with machine control systems and computer systems.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office and MS Excel.
• Strong self-motivation and a proactive, hands-on approach to tasks.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in both English and Mandarin.
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• A team-oriented mindset combined with a willingness to take initiative and work independently when required.

• Provide maintenance and support for Customers' Enterprise IT Network Services.
