Role Overview 

An exciting opportunity to sit at the LGIM’s award-winning global Investment Stewardship team and LGIM’s newly established office in Singapore, bringing meaningful change by improving sustainability characteristics in companies and raising global and Asian markets standards.  

The successful Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Analyst will join our Investment Stewardship team in Singapore, working in collaboration with the Investment Research and Climate Solutions teams. In this multi-faceted role you will carry out engagement with companies to influence and drive improvements in a company’s approach to ESG – including but not limited to topics like climate, nature, human rights and corporate governances.

You will work in close collaboration alongside the Active Investment teams to integrated Stewardship policies into the investment process, develop engagement plans, identifying and engaging with other relevant stakeholders, undertake qualitative and quantitative research and will be responsible for producing related documentations, communications and recordkeeping for use in client reporting.

You will use your passion for ESG matters and your excellent written and verbal communication skills to enthuse and influence a range of stakeholders. The ability to review research, data, analyse and make recommendations to a range of stakeholders is a central aspect of the role.  The role would suit an enthusiastic self-starter who thrives working as part of a broader team and fostering positive relationships

Responsibilities 

Engagement

• Undertaking engagement with companies and other stakeholders on material ESG matters in accordance with LGIM’s Stewardship strategy 
• Supporting the Investment Stewardship team in developing and running thematic ESG engagement campaigns
• Developing engagement agendas and plans for specified companies, utilising LGIM’s stewardship policies, in collaboration with LGIM’s Active investment teams. 
• Undertaking voting activities for specific sector and/or region in accordance with LGIM’s Stewardship policies. Prior voting experience not a requirement. 
• Representing LGIM and LGIM’s views and positions when undertaking external collaborative engagement  

Integration: 

• Representing Investment Stewardship at LGIM’s Global Research and Engagement Groups.
• Supporting the investment teams in understanding and integrating ESG considerations and LGIM’s Stewardship policies into sector and company research. This will include undertaking regular presentations and building strong relationships with the active investment portfolio managers and analysts.    
• Developing further opportunities for integration of ESG within LGIM’s investment teams globally.

Research:

• Carrying out ESG related research to support integration and engagement activities.

Stewardship reporting and external representation: 

• Writing and contributing to external thought pieces, blogs, policies and reports on climate/environmental and broader ESG topics  
• Supporting client engagement by representing the Investment Stewardship team’s approach and activities in client meetings  
• Supporting client understanding through the development of client collateral, responding to client requests and proposals as required 
• Representing LGIM in external forums, such as industry roundtables, associations and panels as required 

Main Responsibilities:

• Monitoring and forecasting the supply and demand dynamics of the global iron ore and steel markets, as well as the key drivers and risks affecting them. 
• Providing timely and insightful analysis and commentary on the iron ore and steel market developments, trends and outlooks  
• Developing and maintaining quantitative models and databases to support the iron ore and steel market analysis and forecasting. 
• Collaborating with other analysts across different commodities and regions to ensure a consistent and integrated view of the commodity markets. 
• Contributing to the development and improvement of the research products, methodologies, and tools. 

Experience:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience research or trading, preferably in a commodity trading house, consultancy, or financial institution. 
• A strong understanding of the iron ore and steel market fundamentals, drivers, and dynamics, as well as their impact on the dry bulk market. 
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Other skills (Computer Skills, etc)

• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and other data analysis tools.
• Skillful in Python. 

Languages:

• English (Fluent)
• Ability to read and write Mandarin would be an added advantage 

Academics:

•  Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or related field of study

Based in Singapore, the position entails developing, writing, and publishing timely market driven insight and strategies on global currency and rates markets incorporating an awareness of impactful factors and events in the adjacent rates, credit and fund flow markets.

Candidates must demonstrate their keen interest in and familiarity with the mechanics of currency and rate markets, alongside a strong grasp of relevant macro-economic drivers and a love of conveying their ideas and opinions via a mix of shorter “pulse” and longer “insight” stories.

We want to meet professional candidates who can demonstrate their knowledge and passion alongside the ability to marry written insight with engaging charts and graphs utilising proprietary and other data resources.

To that end, proficiency with data handling tools, particularly Excel and VBA, as well as strong skills in data analysis and visualisation, are as important as market experience for this position.

The successful candidate should ideally have spent time as a professional currency, fixed income and or economic research analyst/strategist or reporter. Experience in bank trading or as an investment adviser in a private banking or fund set up would also be an advantage.

While an established contact base would be a distinct advantage, enthusiasm to build and maintain your own is a fundamental to success, as is proactively engaging with clients and contacts. Otherwise, a strong desire to produce real time, opinionated and concise market research and fluency in the English language are crucial.

Key Elements of the Role

• Provide support to generate trading insight and strategies in G10 and EM Asian Currency and Fixed Income markets and cross asset classes based on fundamental macro analysis and experience
• Contribute to ensuring an accurate and timely flow of reasoned opinion demonstrating close touch with markets
• Formulate and publish longer term research and presentations, incorporating fund flows, charts
• Exercise and apply sound judgement in analysis of market moving influences
• Develop and maintain a deep regional contact base, cultivating sources from both sell-side (bank) and buy-side (investor) communities
• Contribute to daily, weekly and special reports
• Provide flexible cover for colleagues across multiple disciplines and possibly time zones

Reporting to IT Infra Manager, this role plays an important part in delivering IT infrastructure solutions and services that supports business growth, security, and operational excellence with common operating model across the SEAMX region incl. IKEA Stores, Shopping Centers and Services Office.

Your assignment

• Lead and support planning, design, architecture, implementation and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure solutions and services (data centre, servers, storage, virtualization, security, backup & monitoring) incl. evaluation and adoption of new technologies in alignment with the business plans and priorities in a consistent, holistic, and cost-effective manner
• Collaborate with functional and technical team members to develop and drive the IT enterprise grade IT infrastructure roadmap and initiatives including standardization, optimization, and common operating model across the region.
• Develop, maintain and support Ikano Retail IT infrastructure solutions and services with defined standards and processes to drive availability, stability, scalability, security, and performance of IT infra solutions and services.
• Work closely with IT infra team to ensure effective measurement, monitoring and administration with centralized delivery model while reducing dependence on external vendors and develop our own internal competence.
• Analyse proposed system changes to identify strategies for meeting business objectives and impacts, including benefits, costs and effort required to implement. Collaborate with IT, super users, vendor teams as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge by researching new technologies and IT infra products/tools.
• Develop in house competence & knowledge transfer to IT team on Infrastructure methodologies & processes.

About the job

This role supports Store IT systems, service requests and IT incidents including IT hardware equipment, application systems and operations. This role works closely with store co-workers, super users, Service Office IT team and external IT vendors to ensure high availability, stability, and security of IT system to support store activities and operations.

Your assignment

• Perform day-to-day IT operations and support activities in the store to ensure that IT systems perform with high availability, performance, and security
• Investigate, trouble-shoot, follow up and communicate with store users on their IT support incidents and service requests with resolution, closure, work-around and escalation
• Perform Store IT support according to IT policies, standards, and SOPs
• Support IT audit, compliance, and security reviews and assessments
• Support implementation of local Store IT project activities within planned scope, schedule, and budgets
• Support Store super users in testing, training, implementation, and upgrade of Store IT systems including associated technical documentation
• Support and coordinate with Service Office IT in system security patches and anti-virus updates on Store IT systems on a needs basis
• Maintain inventory records of hardware, software license and support contracts
• Support IT hardware, software, license and subscription compliance through physical checks and tools (Service Desk and SCCM)
• Coordinate on-site work with authorised vendors during rebuild, relocations or repairs
• Support Service Office IT and Store BN in IT budget preparation and contract renewal of Store IT hardware, software licenses, application support, subscription & other IT services procurement with due diligence
• Support system & data backup, recovery procedures to ensure effective and timely recovery of business data & IT services in the event of an emergency or disaster situation
• Provide standby weekend & after office support if required or rostered

• IT Support experience of IT systems in retail environment (Microsoft Navision, LS Retail, POS, CRM, SQL Database)
• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, network and security technologies (Windows Servers, Active Directory, Azure, VMWARE, EMC Storage, CISCO Routers, Switches & WLAN, Firewall, SCCM and Azure Cloud)
• Familiar with store operations, e-commerce and retail business processes
