The Write Connection Group is a premier education group in Singapore with 13 centres across the island and a head office. We are looking for a Senior IT Executive to join our Internal Operations Department to support our growth and expansion in Singapore and overseas.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage IT requests and provide IT support to TWC Group centres and head office, and ensure all IT tickets are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.
• Plan and conduct regular checks, analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting for all TWC Group premises to ensure all software and hardware are up to date and effective, so as to prevent any possible disruptions in daily operations.
• Supervise, review and implement the organisation’s IT and digitalisation strategies and policies for all business processes in respect to the law, regulations, guidelines and IT standards.
• Provide recommendations to senior management on improvements, SOPs, risks, or policies regarding IT and digitalisation matters.
• Assist with the review, update and implementation of IT policies, SOPs and processes based on departmental needs, to minimise vulnerabilities, boost productivity and increase efficiency of IT systems and processes.
• Set up and maintain drives for all regular IT-related SOPs, guidelines, accounts, inventory and records, as well as other related information for IT Team and key stakeholders’ reference.
• Conduct research and maintain up-to-date understanding of the latest threats, vulnerabilities, mitigation, IT security, industry best practices, regulations.
• Provide all TWC staff with the necessary IT equipment and access to relevant company resources. Maintain and update an inventory for all IT equipment and access information.
• Perform installation, setup, configuration, migration, upgrading and testing of software applications, IT equipment and network.
• Maintain a back-up of relevant TWC data onto a secure space to safeguard the company's data and intellectual property.
• Provide IT support for company events (e.g. Town Hall Meeting and Staff Appreciation Night).
• Other IT related tasks and scopes.

Job Requirements

• Possess at least a Diploma (preferably IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline).
• At least 2 years’ experience in the IT field in a relevant role.
• Responsible and solution-oriented.
• Ability to learn to use Google Workplace (Sheets, Forms, App Script etc). Familiar or able to efficiently learn to handle HTML/CSS, Mac platform, Apple systems and devices.
• Able to organise tasks and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Technically savvy and self-motivated learner.
• Possess excellent communication and project management skills to work with stakeholders from various departments and external teams.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is a plus as future work will involve collaboration with international teams based in other countries in Asia.

Work Hours and Location:

• Work Days: 5-day work week (4 weekdays and 1 weekend). The weekend may be a Sat or Sun depending on roster.
• Work Shifts:
  • Weekdays: 10.30am - 7.30pm / 12.30pm - 9.30pm depending on the roster
  • Weekends: 8.30am - 6.30pm
• Work Location: TWC HQ, Guthrie House, Bukit Timah. (Candidates may be required to travel to various TWC centres when the need arises.)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute a dynamic technology strategy that aligns with the organization's growth, focusing on emerging trends and technologies. Be visionary in exploring emerging technologies that can be integrated in our delivery life cycle.

Team Unification and Development:

• Manage and nurture the talent within the DevSecOps & Cloud and SRE teams. Foster a culture of high performance and continuous skill development, ensuring our team remains market-relevant and excels in delivering quality services.

Collaboration and Alignment:

• Work closely with the CIO, CTO, Business Teams, Marketing, and the broader Management Team to ensure technology strategies are well-integrated with company-wide goals. Your role is crucial in harmonizing technological initiatives with business objectives.

External Representation:

• Act as a key ambassador for our company in external forums and events related to your domain of expertise. Your thought leadership will enhance our brand presence in the technology community.

Budget and Resource Management:

• Oversee budget and resource allocation for the DevSecOps & Cloud and SRE teams. Your decisions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our technology operations.

Innovation and R&D:

• Lead innovation and research and development initiatives. Your role involves exploring new areas and defining cutting-edge projects that prevent technological stagnation and promote growth.

WHO YOU ARE:

A creative individual with deep technological expertise, business acumen, and a software development background with at least 12-15 years in IT industry, with substantial experience in a leadership role within a high-growth tech environment. Familiarity with Agile methodologies is essential.

Technical Acumen:

• Expertise in Core Areas: You have an extensive understanding of DevSecOps, Cloud technologies, and SRE principles, with significant hands-on experience in multi-cloud environments (both private and public clouds). Your expertise encompasses distributed systems, cloud security, performance optimization, and cloud cost optimization.
• Design and Automation Skills: Proven experience in designing enterprise-grade, Cloud-native architectures and executing efficient CI/CD automations. Your approach should be focused on creating scalable and resilient systems.
• Tech Trend Tracker: A constant drive to explore new technologies in DevSecOps, Cloud, and SRE, aiming to enhance delivery cycles and boost operations and system reliability.

Leadership:

• Strong managerial skills, with a proven track record of scaling, building and leading high-performing teams (minimum 25 people). Ability to maintain a people-centric culture while driving outstanding performance.

Visionary Mindset:

• Demonstrated ability to stay ahead of technology trends and effectively integrate them into business strategies. High entrepreneurial spirit and ability to operate independently.

Communication and Representation:

• Excellent communication skills for both internal collaboration and external representation, where you can balance idealism and pragmatism. A history of effective participation in industry forums and events is a bonus point.

Job Description:

WSP wishes to be a leader in the quality of IT service offered to its users by offering them a varied but unified support structure consisting of a remote help desk, tech bars, a self-service portal, and several on-site technicians whose main mission is to respond to IT needs that require a physical presence in the various locations of the company. This position is made for those who like to be on the field and constantly in the heat of the action!

Responsibilities:

• Respond to IT incidents and requests at your main office and during visits to offices in the region where you are located.
• If necessary, transfer requests and incidents to a more specialized level of support.
• Identify and document recurring problems and make recommendations for corrective measures, as well as participate in their implementation when possible.
• Collaborate with the various administrators and analysts (server, network, security, etc.) to ensure the resolution of complex incidents and the maintenance of infrastructure equipment.
• Develop collaborative relationships with office managers to better understand their IT challenges and work with your IT leader to address these needs as effectively as possible.
• Participate in office deployment, relocation and renovation projects.
• Monitor, report and contribute to the resolution of problems related to shared IT services (audio/video, printers, Wi-Fi, cabling, networking, etc.).
• Preparation and replacement of computer workstations when the local group responsible for the preparation of this equipment cannot respond within the required time.
• Maintain the inventory of IT assets in the CMDB rigorously.
• If necessary, help resolve IT incidents remotely.
• If necessary, assist on day-to-day IT procurement requests for all hardware and software for the assigned office.
• Participate in computer performance testing, report and documentation.
• Guide and train the users on best practices whenever possible and needed.
• Develop collaborative relationships with end users to personalize and improve the service.
• Lead IT induction sessions with a group of new employees to explain where they can find support resources and how to use our systems.
• Maintain and improve the IT work desk, stockroom, etc.
• Contribute to the documentation of IT incident resolution processes.
• Participate in the development of long-term strategies and planning for the future needs of IT services.
• Any other assigned tasks.

Experience:

• A very strong desire to serve and help users.
• A marked interest and a great curiosity towards information technologies.
• Able to communicate clearly orally and in writing. English and one local Asian language (Any additional language capability would be an advantage)
• Know how to manage priorities and customer expectations.
• 2 to 5 years of experience as a level 2 support technician.

Education:

• Degree or certificate in computer science or other computer-related discipline.
• A+, Network Plus or Help Desk Institute certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and common office tools/software
• Knowledge of ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes.
