Landon Veterinary Specialists (LVS) is the longest established specialist referral clinic in Singapore. We are independently-owned and the key personnel work on the ground with the rest of the departments. We have a robust referral network across the island.

We are seeking a Board-Certified Veterinary Specialist Dermatologist to join our team.

With your technical expertise, provide comprehensive support to the business by ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to local statutory compliance requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

1) Financial Accounting and Reporting

• Approve and review journal entries, including Blackline journal reconciliations, to ensure consistency and completeness of all postings with accurate coding, classification and aligned with local accounting standards
• Review the trial balance and general ledger entries for 2 to 3 APAC entities, ensuring alignment with accounting standards (local accounting standards, IFRS) and tax laws.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including supporting explanations and ensure follow up on outstanding balances and taking corrective actions where needed
• Performs variance analyses for movements on all accounts to keep financials free from probable errors and misstatements
• Be responsible for financial reporting processes, including preparation and review of annual financial statements

2) Audit and Compliance

• Maintains adherence to local statutory reporting rules, tax requirements for entities in region and lead communication with external and internal auditors, including planning, coordinating with auditors, and addressing queries
• Responsibility for the completion and review of internal and external statutory reporting and audit requirements and ensure compliance with local accounting standards, global processes, and company policies
• Collaborate with legal and tax teams to provide data and ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Work closely with tax, transfer pricing, legal, AP, and treasury teams on various processes, including GST filings, transfer pricing adjustments, and legal compliance
• Prepares, review and submit government reports, and ad-hoc financial information requests

3) Operational Oversight

• Collaborate with the treasury team for activities such as capital injections, foreign payments, and cash flow management
• Provide support for ad-hoc requests, including certificates and documentation for tax and legal teams

4) Process Improvement and Problem Solving

• Identify and implement solutions and processes to address outstanding local requirements while aligning with global and regional processes
• Proactively address ad-hoc requests and design solutions for issues related to accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance

You will be a part of Business Service Operations (BSO), which is a shared service center that delivers Employee and Finance services to The LEGO Group from 5 locations – Monterrey, Prague, Singapore, China and Vietnam. The purpose of the BSO is to build an effective and efficient platform to support the growth strategy of The LEGO Group and our ambitions to reach twice as many children over the next 5-7 years. Within BSO, the GL team is responsible for the maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of the consolidation reports and meeting the global tax and statutory compliance requirements. The department balances a mix of internal resources and third parties to efficiently meet global compliance requirements. There is a strong focus on transparent and accurate status reporting, maintaining a strong internal control framework, using technology and standard processes to meet our operational targets.

The role requires a great teammate who is independent and has a self-starter mentality, one who can deliver operational objectives through strong collaboration and with a service approach towards key collaborators.

Do you have what it takes:

• BA degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or related
• More than 4 years of audit and/or financial controlling experience with consistent track record and solid experience in accounting regulations, preferably in a global MNC environment
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong ability to work independently
• Solid understanding of accounting standards like IFRS, with detailed understanding of theoretical and practical aspects of accounting and compliance
• Proficiency in financial systems, including SAP and Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with proven track record to collaborate across cross-functional teams and geographies, including APAC and global collaborators
• Fluency in Mandarin, in addition to English, is required to effectively support the Taiwan entity and liaise with Mandarin-speaking collaborators
• Strong problem-solving skills to address local-specific complexities and align them with global processes
