Role Overview
In this role, you will support SIMC’s technology initiatives. You will be responsible for managing and supporting AI solutions, managing IT suppliers, co-ordinating IT projects, and occasionally assisting with day-to-day operational needs. You will also stay informed about emerging AI tools, focusing on prompt engineering for internal usage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Vendor Management
a. Manage IT vendors to ensure service quality & timely project deliverables.
b. Manage budgets, timelines, and communications for IT-related projects, including software rollouts and system upgrades.
c. Collaborate to gather requirements and document project progress.
d. Oversee IT contracts, service-level agreements & performance reviews.
2. Generative AI & Prompt Engineering
a. Keep abreast of the latest AI and machine learning tools that could benefit SIMC’s mediation services and efficiency.
b. Experiment with, and write prompts for, internal AI tools to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
c. Identify and develop AI-driven solutions to address business challenges.
d. Work within the guardrails of confidentiality, security, ethical standards and societal values
3. IT Operations & Support
a. Provide day-to-day support on basic IT issues.
b. Act as the first point of contact for internal helpdesk queries; escalate complex issues to external suppliers or senior IT consultants if need be.
c. Assist in user account set-up and management, ensuring compliance with internal security protocols.
d. Co-ordinate basic infrastructure improvements (e.g., system updates, network installations) in collaboration with suppliers.
4. System Adoption & Training
a. Champion the adoption of new technologies and systems within SIMC, serving as a key resource for both technical and non-technical teams.
b. Conduct training sessions and develop materials to ensure the smooth onboarding of new systems for internal users.
c. Gather feedback and conduct reviews to refine processes.
5. General tasks
a. Undertake additional projects, research, or administrative tasks as assigned, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals.
b. Provide basic technical assistance to other departments during peak workloads, special events, or new system rollouts.
c. Stay up to date with emerging trends in IT and AI, and participate in any mandatory or recommended professional development programmes.

Requirements
Education & Experience:
· Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Information systems, or a related field.
· 1–3 years of relevant experience in IT support, vendor management, and project coordination preferred (exceptional fresh graduates with a strong interest and aptitude are welcome to apply).
Technical Skills:
· Basic proficiency with Microsoft environments (e.g., Windows OS, Office 365, basic networking).
· Experience in prompt engineering
Soft Skills:
· Comfortable managing external IT suppliers, service providers, and consultants.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
· Basic project management skills, including planning, co-ordination, and documentation.
