(A) JOB DESCRIPTION:
For the assigned project, assume overall responsibility for inspecting and assessing the quality and reliability of welding work, including but not limited to the following:
1) Perform inspection to ensure all fabrication work is done according to required specification, procedure, and applicable standards.
2) Conduct welding and welder procedure qualification testing and prepares report & record as per relevant specification and code.
3) Reviewing material/weld traceability records.
4) Inspections on Piping fabrication / Installation prior to pressure testing, witnessing pressure testing.
5) Understand all technical specification and standard compliance.
6) Handle troubleshooting project correction.
7) Carry out inspection of all the welding and related actions in accordance with the approved Welding Procedure Specification, drawings and Company Specification and requirements.
8) Recommend approval of the work inspected (in compliance with the Contract Plans and Specifications).
9) Any other ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned.
(B) REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy.
2) Possess a valid welding inspector certificate (AWS or CSWIP)
3) At least 2 years working experience in welding inspection of structural, piping fabrication and welding jobs (including NDT).
4) Sound knowledge of structural fabrication, piping isometric drawing and materials
5) Good written and communication skills, to interact with people of all levels and teamwork
6) Those with practical experience in the Process (Oil & Gas) industry will have added advantage.
