This is a hands-on role, you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of our state-of-the-art vertical farm. Key Responsibilities:

• Farm Operations:
  • Assist with all farm functions, from preparing nutrient solutions and supplies to carrying out daily seeding, harvesting, and packaging tasks.
  • Perform manual tasks such as seeding, sorting, and packaging produce.
  • Operate automated systems (e.g., seeding machines, sorting machines, packaging equipment) as needed to support farm operations.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Overseas Accounting Department in SIA Finance Division.

Key Responsibilities
1) Internal control
- Review and complete monthly accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, cash audit checklist, highlight and follow through any abnormalities with accountant and stations.
- Monitor and liaise with stations to ensure they have followed the procedures and policies stipulated in the Finance Manual in their accounting processes.
- Assists to support queries from stations on arising basis.

2) Month-end closing
- Assist with review of station month-end financial closing activities.

3) Accounts Receivables
- Follow up with stations on defaulted debts/aged debts to provide provisions for doubtful debt.

4) General Ledger
- Monitor and ensure prompt clearance of suspense account. As and when required, to assist station in posting the accounting entries for account clearance.

5) Budget and Forecasting
- Business partner with station Business Units (“BUs”) on variance analysis of station’s operational expense incurred and query station for explanations.
- Review stations’ submissions of their quarterly Budgetary Control Statement (“BCS”) reports.
- Assist in station’s operating budget exercise on an annual basis.

6) Operational Accounting
- Assist station’s request for billing to subsidiaries or third parties upon request.
- Handle station’s request of new SAP access in conjunction with the Segregation of Duty (“SOD”) matrix updated to flag out discrepancies.
- Keep track of Business Process Outsourcing vendor’s Key Performance Indicator (“KPI”) to ensure they are within the targets set.

7) Others
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (“UAT”) for system enhancements.
- Other assignments and projects as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Possess a Diploma in Accountancy or similar.
• Meticulous, self-driven and able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Able to work under pressure and perform under tight datelines.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel & Word and IT savy.

Job Objective/s

• Develop and maintain potential supplier relationships with strong focus on a proactive approach to procurement by evaluating and negotiating quotes, proposals, vendor pre-qualifications and contracts.
• Technical interface between suppliers and cross functional stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Subcon, Marketing and Sales, Quality, etc.) to drive improvements in quality, delivery, and cost to meet business targets and initiatives prepare procurement data for management review.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage procurement staffs and activities.
• Determine specifications and requirements for products and services through communication with internal stakeholders and the department's strategic plan
• Lead regional sourcing opportunities, direct negotiations, analytics, and use market research from internal and external sources to drive sourcing decisions
• Ensure adherence to the policies and thresholds set by the Operations Business Management (OBM)
• Negotiate and implement Contractual agreements in partnership with the internal customer
• Maintain the contract database to ensure compliance and accessibility to review by the internal customer or auditor
• Manage the vendor base to ensure that contractual compliance and financial efficiency
• Continuously review with the Sourcing Team Strategic Plans to better serve the company as a whole
• Build strong and lasting relationships with internal customers and the associated vendor base
• Provide support to the rest of the team to make sure we deliver first class customer service
• Coordinate production material requirements with Merchandising / Operations teams to assure
• Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents. Produce and maintain all reports.
• Using the purchaser system collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order-to-order materials, goods and supplies and send them to the suppliers.
• Maintain approved Suppliers/Vendors List
• Interact with the suppliers and finance department for orders, delivery, and payment.
• Initiate and drive cost, lead-time and inventory reduction in the commodities assigned.
• Participate in supplier performance review, selection, and qualification to ensure that suppliers are conforming to organizational expectations and requirements.
• Support procurement projects in enhancing process and system.
• Ownership of supply base AVL (Approved Vendors List) and review frequently, especially before adding new suppliers.
• Work with matrix organization esp. Finance and Planning for best cost savings with ladder pricing proposal for management considerations.

Requirements

Minimum Education

• Bachelor in engineering or sub-field of engineering

Minimum Experience

• At least 6 years’ experience in procurement in a manufacturing industry with preference for semiconductor background.
