Job Description
The Department of Statistics and Data Science is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our growing and enthusiastic administrative team. The department was established in 1998 and has been the top department in statistics in Asia for many years. Our mission is to advance research and train students and working adults in the areas of statistics and data science to prepare and upskill them for jobs in academia, government, and industry. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following -
ā Propose best online learning approaches and solutions to lecturers.
ā Collaborate with lecturers to design and produce eLearning content that will comprise videos, animation, and other instructional technologies.
ā Conceptualise, design, and develop engaging teaching materials with appropriate tasks, learning activities and assessments to meet intended learning objectives.
ā Produce effective storyboards to convey idea to stakeholders.
ā Support lecturers in the production of high-quality teaching materials, in particular production of videos, from planning stage, to recording to final editing.
ā Perform functional testing of eLearning courseware to ensure it meets NUS academic quality.
ā Manage and curate the departmentās digital teaching materials repository.
ā Monitor trends in online learning design and evaluate relevance and usefulness of latest trends to current practices.
ā Monitor trends in learning technologies that support online learning and online learning design.
ā Undertake additional responsibilities and ad-hoc tasks to support the department.
Qualifications/Requirements/Other Info
ā¢ At least a good bachelorās degree in any discipline from a reputable university.
ā¢ Good English proficiency.
ā¢ Some basic understanding of concepts from statistics and data science is desirable.
ā¢ IT savvy, proficient in video editing and MS Office applications, and openness to get acquainted with other software.
ā¢ At least 1 year of relevant working experience.
ā¢ Energetic, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.
ā¢ Strong time management and organisational skills.
ā¢ Good interpersonal skills to engage with lecturers.
ā¢ Strong team player, able to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
ā¢ Resilient, resourceful, possesses good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Remuneration is based on a 12-month salary structure, with annual variable bonus which is subject to incumbentās performance and the University/Schoolās prevailing remuneration policies.
- The incumbent will be emplaced at an appropriate appointment grade based on his/her individual merits.
