Centre for Optical Fibre Technology (COFT)

COFT is a joint endeavour between DSO, A*Star and NTU which hosts state-of-the-art fabrication equipment for several kinds of optical fibres, ranging from standard silica fibres to a variety of advanced specialty fibres, microstructured fibres and novel glasses (e.g. chalcogenides). Key equipment includes a 8.5 m dual-side fibre drawing tower, a Modified Chemical Vapour Deposition (MCVD) fibre preform lathe hosted in 200 m2 of cleanroom space. The facility also includes 300 m2 of dedicated chemical preparation area for glass etching and machining, advanced fibre processing and characterisation systems, including Bragg grating engraving/cutting, fusion splicing, thermogravimetric and thermomechanical analysers, lithography and etching. Characterisation relies on spectrophotometry, high-frequency network analysis, SNOM and electro-optic microcharacterisation.

A Facility Manager (FM) is required to support fibre fabrication activities at NTU. The FM should address any problems or issues that arise during fibre fabrication in the lab and proactively assist those using the facility. The FM must exhibit strong organisational skills and confidently prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment where responsibilities are continually evolving.

The Vertica Senior Account Executive is an experienced software sales athlete responsible for delivering license software sales with large existing customers. The primary opportunity is upselling and cross-selling into existing customer whitespace and focusing on new customer acquisition.This incumbent will build strong relationships by networking within the account base and leverage the broader team to identify contacts and sales opportunities. Focused on selling our big data analytics platform, this Senior Account Executive will develop relationships with the highest level of IT and Business management to communicate our value proposition and deliver license software sales.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

• Responsible for creating and driving their sales pipeline.
• Maintains knowledge of competitors in account to strategically position the company's products and services better.
• Use expertise to seek out new opportunities and expand and enhance existing opportunities to build the pipeline in and drive pursuit.
• Development of quota objectives and future direction for defined product category.
• Establish a professional, working, and consultative, relationship with the client, up to and including the C-level for mid-to-large accounts, by developing a core understanding of the unique business needs of the client within their industry.
• May invest time working with and leveraging external partners (Distribution and Channels) to deliver sales.
• Directs or coordinates supporting sales activities.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Education and Experience Required:

• Directly related previous work experience.
• Demonstrated achievement of progressively higher quota, diversity of business customer, and higher level customer interface.
• Extensive selling experience within the Data Analytics industry and on similar products.
• Typically minimum 3-4 years of software sales experience.
• Preferable with 2-3 years of product sales in the desired specialty (Big Data, Data warehouse, Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics etc.)

Knowledge and Skills:

• Basic understanding of sales CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
• Knowledge of sales funnel management and Sales forecasting process.
• Strong listening skills to help evaluate the customer needs and tailor solution messages to the customer based on their business needs and ties-in additional promotional campaigns, upgrades or extended portfolio of products/services.
• Ability to demonstrate strong productivity and high level of activity within existing accounts to uncover new business and take ownership for developing early stage opportunities.
• Show a "hunting" sales approach to new business pursuits for new logo acquisitions.
• Knowledge of the Data Analytics industry preferred.
• Willingness to learn and develop thorough knowledge of the Vertica technology and existing customers current solution architecture.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Update, compile, control and monitor the Customer Product BOM (Bill of Material), drawing and specification.
• Assists Sales Support during the Quotation stage by preparing the proposal and tender documents.
• Assists Sales Support to trigger the production Job Launch.
• Compilation and submission of Pre-Production Documentations.
• Assists Sales Support to update Customer purchase order and Delivery Schedule.
• Compilation and submission of Concession/NC documents to customer.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• A-Level, ITE or Diploma in Engineering/Business or equivalent.

Resposibilities:

• Receive customer enquiries through customer portal or email.
• Download, update, and monitor customer product Bill of Material (BOM), drawings, and specifications and its revisions.
• Prepare Sales quotation/proposal/tender documents during RFQ/quotation stage.
• Check and ensure compliance to all specifications prior to providing customer the proposal.
• Calculate material, machining, cladding and other associated costs to quotations.
• Ensure quotations submitted are competitive and maintain a good profit margin.
• Follow-up on proposals with clients to secure orders.
• Prepare and distribute a Sales Order Job Launch when customer awards Purchase orders.
• Project Management on active Sales Orders and delivery schedules.
• Manage and build customer relationships and improve customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with other departments to compile and submit documentations as required (e.g. pre-production/ final product documentations, concessions/non-conformances)
• Establish positive communications with customers regularly.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
