Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team, specializing in the hands-on experimentation and characterization of materials. The successful candidate will work closely with the research team to conduct materials characterization, perform electrochemical testing, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for lithium battery recycling. This role requires a candidate with hands-on experience in material science techniques and electrochemical methods.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform experiments and characterization of materials using analytical techniques such as ICP, XRD, and FTIR.
2. Conduct electrochemical analysis, including cyclic voltammetry, LSV and other related techniques.
3. Prepare samples for testing and ensure proper calibration and maintenance of equipment.
4. Analyze and interpret experimental data, providing clear and concise reports to the research team.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure experimental objectives are achieved.
6. Maintain accurate records of experiments and uphold laboratory safety protocols.
7. Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing experimental procedures as needed.
8. Assist in lab procurement activities.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Hands-on experience with material characterization techniques such as ICP, XRD, SEM and FTIR.
3. Proficiency in electrochemical methods is highly preferred.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to document and present findings.
6. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
7. Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
8. Experience in data analysis and interpretation software (e.g., Origin).
9. Familiarity with additional characterization techniques is an added advantage.
10. Prior experience in an R&D or industrial laboratory setting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Stand in for the teaching of all subjects except those taught by specialist teachers according to school policies and schemes of work.
• Ensure monitoring, recording, assessment and reporting are undertaken in accordance with the school policies.
• Mark work appropriately and as immediately as possible in accordance with the marking policy, giving individual feedback and encouragement whenever possible.
• Be responsible for the behaviour and discipline of children in the class in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.
• Lunch with the children and monitor lunchtime behaviour
• Liaise closely with the Head Master and other staff members regarding any children for concern.
• Ensure that the classroom provides a stimulating and interesting learning environment.
• Ensure all paperwork is up-to-date and accurate (registers, profiles, health matters, etc.)
• Be responsible for care, security, and maintenance of resources and equipment in own classroom and throughout the school.
• Be a good role model in respect of speech, dress, behaviour and care of equipment.

Requirements:

• Minimal 3 years of experience in cover/relief teaching in independent school environment for children age 18 months to 13 years old.
• Possesses relevant Teaching Certification recognised in International Teaching Climate (i.e. QTS, PGCE / i-PGCE)
• Highly adept and adaptable individual with pro-active attitude and a passion for teaching children across a wide age range.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and talented Drama and Dance Specialist to inspire our Junior students. The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with extensive experience in teaching Dance and Drama at the primary school level. The successful applicant will nurture creativity, build confidence, and showcase student talent through engaging performances, a dynamic curriculum, and high-quality teaching practices. The role involves teaching the Dance and Drama curriculum, as well as leading and supporting the co-curricular program, including performances and events within the Junior School. The role reports to the Head of Junior School through the Deputy Head Academic (Junior School) and the Head of Drama (Junior School).

Teaching & Learning

• Manage an effective, orderly and safe learning environment.
