Requirements

Job Description:

A Perfusionist is responsible for providing life support for patient through cardiopulmonary bypass during heart and related surgeries, where the cessation of the heart and lungs are essential. This artificial life support allows the cardiac surgeon to mend the heart that is afflicted with debilitating ailments.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

· Safe Assembly of cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) circuit on the Heart Lung Machine (HLM).

· Safe conduct and management of CPB, working in close coordination with the heart surgeon and anesthetists.

· Assemble the ECMO circuit, initiate and assist in the management of patients on ECMO life support.

· Perform other Perfusion-related ancillary duties.

The Requirements

Qualification:

· Bachelor Degree, preferably in Life or Biological Sciences, or Nursing

Experience:

· Good Class Honours or Bachelors’ Degree in Life or Biological Sciences, or Nursing.

· Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
