Job Scope:

• Monitor closely pre-operative patients seen in the wards and clinics on the outcomes of decisions for surgery.
• Provide information regarding patient’s diagnosis, need for intervention and possible outcomes to patients.
• Responsible for patient education.
• Responsible for financial counselling and admission procedures
• Ensure all appropriate investigations ordered are carried out before any surgical intervention.

• Assist nurses and allied health professionals in educating and facilitating the clinicians care plan
• Inform and remind patients / families on follow up appointments and post discharge medical instructions
• Develop educational materials and assist in research activities of Adult Cardiac Surgeons
• Ad hoc duties as assigned by the Head of Department

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Degree, preferably in Nursing / Allied Health / Science or equivalent
