PERTAPIS HALFWAY HOUSE provides for treatment and rehabilitative services to substance abusers, enabling them to reintegrate into society and be active contributors.

Halfway House hosts 100 offenders or abusers placed under community based rehabilitation.

Our skills development programs aim to provide the tools for a seamless re-integration in society.

Job Description

• Ensure daily needs of residents are well taken care of
• Motivate residents through their day to day interaction
• Oversee security screening to ensure contrabands are not brought into the house.
• Facilitate the process of residents checking in and out of the halfway house on a daily basis and provide daily updates on the headcount and other activities/incidents (if any) throughout the tour of duty. Any unusual movements should be highlighted and reported to the relevant parties.
• Refer residents’ issues to Social Worker when necessary
• Assist in institutional programmes such as outings (optional)
• Oversee Halfway House estate management
• Assist in monitoring of workplace safety and health standards.
• Ensure the overall safety and well-being of the residents during the programmes and activities that are carried out in-house and externally.
• To ensure that there is seamless transition during the handing and taking over of shift duties. The jobholder is also responsible in ensuring that all outstanding matters have been clearly communicated to the next duty personnel and are promptly followed up with.
• Work closely with Programme/Social Work team in the case management of residents, including monitoring and maintaining proper records on the progress, movement, and other relevant information pertaining to the residents.
• Assist in handling any grievance procedure and carrying out the preliminary investigation of incidents and/or disciplinary issues (when assigned).
• Identify any defect(s) or work(s) to be carried out pertaining to the halfway house’s estate management issues during a daily tour of duty and to feedback to the Facility Department for follow up.

• The qualified drivers shall be responsible for the collection of cadavers upon activation by the Authority. They shall also meet the activation response time for the collection of cadavers as set by the Authority.
• At the start of every shift, the qualified drivers shall report to an officer appointed by the Authority. The qualified drivers shall also conduct pre-shift checks on the vehicle and any equipment provide by the Authority to ensure that all are in order and there is sufficient equipment to last throughout the shift. • The qualified drivers shall report and be stationed at a designated location as specified by the Authority, and be on standby to operate the Police vehicle upon activation by the Authority. The qualified drivers shall pick up the undertakers from a location directed by the Authority within 30 minutes of activation, before proceeding to a scene or hospital upon activation by the Authority. No unauthorised persons shall travel on the vehicle unless there is prior approval from the Authority.
• The qualified drivers shall ensure that the body bags are properly sealed prior to departure from a scene or hospital to the location directed by the Authority. Any lapses detected shall be reported to the on-duty officers promptly. The qualified drivers shall ensure that the cadavers collected are subsequently transported untampered to the location directed by the Authority, before a pre-determined timing daily.
• The integrity and evidential value of the cadaver shall be maintained and due care shall be exercised to prevent tampering or damage to the cadaver while the vehicle is in motion.
• The transport shall be based on stipulated guidelines from the Police and be adhered to.
