As a body established by statute, SAL also undertakes statutory functions such as stakeholding services and appointment of Senior Counsel, Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public.
Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial officer, the officer will play a key role in the review, planning and development of SAL strategies and policies in achieving the organisation’s mission and objectives. The officer will also play a critical role in supporting and driving change management for SAL’s digital transformation.
- Develop long-term plans and roadmaps to guide the organization toward its strategic objectives
- Apply change management processes and tools to support adoption of the changes required
- Conduct analysis of internal and external factors affecting the organization, including market trends, competition and regulatory changes
- Assess and address potential risks associated with strategic initiatives, providing recommendation for risk mitigation
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success and progress of strategic initiatives
- Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment of their activities with the overall strategic plan
- Conduct regular evaluations and reviews of the strategic plan’s implementation, making adjustments as necessary to achieve the desired outcomes
- Communicate the strategic plan to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding and commitment to the organisation’s direction.
Job Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, business development or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to conduct environmental scans, SWOT analysis and other strategic assessments
- Experience working with senior leaders to articulate change vision and advise on leadership engagement
- Experience with relevant change management tools and technologies for strategic planning and analysis
- Experience managing multiple complex inter-related initiatives that are transformative in nature
- Familiarity with the legal industry is an added advantage
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
