You will be responsible for colour-balancing, manipulating and enhancing the colour of the images on screen. Your role will be to work collaboratively with directors, cinematographers, and visual effects teams to achieve the desired aesthetics for film, television, commercials, and other visual media.
Job Description
1. Analyze and balance colour on digital images according to the director's specifications.
2. Adjust colour saturation, brightness, contrast, and hue to enhance the overall look of the film.
3. Generate colour timing notes and shot notes for the director, cinematographer, and other members of the production team.
4. Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise while colourgrading.
Skills and Competencies to Have
1. Strong understanding of colour theory and its application in filmmaking.
2. Ability to interpret director's vision and create appropriate looks
3. Proficiency in creating digital intermediate (DI) workflows.
4. Keen eye for detail and excellent creative problem solving skills.
5. Ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines
6. Ability to work within a team.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor's degree in film, television, or a related field
- 2 to 3 years Experience in digital and film colour correction.
- Experience with colour grading software, such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro X
- Knowledge of industry-standard colour grading workflows and techniques
