The Role

We are looking for a Research Fellow who will be responsible for undertaking in-depth research and innovation in machine learning, data science, and artificial intelligence on natural language processing for information extraction and knowledge discovery that lead to publications in top-tier international conferences and journals, as well as real-world implementations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new concepts and algorithms in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence for natural language processing with a focus on knowledge-graph approaches to address the data integrity issues, information extraction from user conversation data and dialog tree generation;
• Be up-to-date on state-of-the-art methodologies in related technical fields and application domains;
• Develop ideas for application of research outcomes;
• Contribute to knowledge exchange activities with external partners and collaborators

Requirements

• A PhD in Computer Science, with specialization related to natural language processing, machine learning, data mining, artificial intelligence or databases;
• Proven ability to conduct independent research with a strong and relevant publication record;
• Prior experience in knowledge graphs, information extraction, dialog tree generation and knowledge discovery using state-of-the-art NLP approaches.
• Experience with deep learning-based information retrieval, and/or deep generative natural language approaches for conversation AI would be a plus;
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

The Audio-Visual (AV) Assistant will support the audio-visual and technical operations in church services and events. The staff will work closely with the Audio-Visual Executive to equip the volunteer team to support the church events and programmes, as well as maintain the relevant AV equipment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Responsible for providing services pertaining to sound engineering and maintenance at the Local Church.

2. Oversee the audio mix during Saturday worship rehearsals, Sunday services, and as needed, for special services/events.

3. Train and guide TECH ministry members during rehearsals, so that members will be able to conduct their sound engineering duties during worship services effectively.

4. Arrange and conduct training for TECH ministry’s newly recruited members, to equip them with the basic skills and competencies.

5. Look into the regular maintenance and troubleshooting of problems related to the audio system, to ensure that the system continues to meet the needs and requirements of the church.

6. Join the TECH ministry’s committee meetings, to plan possible system upgrades, suggest areas of improvement, organise trainings and retreats.

7. Perform post-production sound edits for recordings (video and audio).

8. Any other relevant tasks assigned by the church office for the purposes of carrying out the church's vision and mission.

· Fluent with both analog and digital consoles

· Be able to troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues

· Experience serving in a church or worship setting is preferred.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior AI/ML expert with a combination of Engineering/Applied Research experience to help us develop our foundational logical reasoning AI system. You will have worked in AI/ML for several years to have experienced, researched/applied different neural network architectures to various problems (e.g. natural language, vision, graphs, symbolic, formal domains), using several model training and optimization techniques (e.g. value models, reinforcement learning, search strategies), and across modalities (text, audio, video). A strong track record in graphs (graph theory, GNNs, GraphML, etc.), and ML-based code synthesis and/or validation will be invaluable. We are especially keen on candidates who have applied ML to real-world physical/materials/etc. engineering applications/use cases – either directly as a full-time or even as an expert consultant across industries/domains.
