About us

Data science is an important component of biomedical and translational research, where data of multiple modalities are being constantly generated at unprecedented scale. The Research Data Integration group in the Biomedical Datahub Division of the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), A*STAR, aims to bridge the complexity of computational biology and data science with the needs of biologists and clinicians to drive biological discoveries and predict translational outcomes. Job description

We are seeking a research officer to drive data management and analysis of large-scale biomedical multi-omics and clinical data. The candidate will be expected handle a number of tasks, including curate and QC incoming large-scale multi-omics data, implement and benchmark bioinformatics workflows, perform downstream analysis, develop file catalogues, databases, knowledge graphs and visualization of datasets, and implement international data standards to ensure data interoperability. The successful candidate will also extensively mine, analyze and curate publicly available resources and develop annotation tools and databases to link up with available datasets of different diseases, including cancer and metabolic diseases. The candidate will also manage and maintain all data in a database structure and develop a searchable web portal for researchers and clinicians. • Contribution to the definition of service standards and continuous management of service level agreements with internal stakeholders and external vendors

Knowledge, experience, competencies:

• ACA/ACCA/CPA qualification is preferred
• Must have a good understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience in interacting with external and internal auditors along with detailed knowledge and experience of SOX Compliance is preferred

A Progamme Manager (PM) (Objective and Key Results Officer) position is available in the Computational Digital Pathology Lab (CDPL) at the Bioinformatics Institute (BII), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. The AI-based Digital Pathology (AIDP) Program aims to develop and validate advanced AI and machine learning solutions, image processing, computer vision, and mathematical modelling for the pathological diagnosis and prognosis of cancer using digitized pathology slides, including both biopsy and whole standard slides.

The innovative AI-based Digital Pathology Diagnosis (AIDP) programme is a pioneering venture set to transform the landscape of AI pathological diagnosis and solve the global shortage of pathologists and increasing cancer cases with cutting-edge AI technologies. Key Skills and Responsibilities:

Requirements:

• Master/Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with industrial and project management skill and experience. Additional qualifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) are advantageous.
• Excellent writing skills, coupled with outstanding communication abilities.
• A strong team player with proven experience in managing large-scale research or development projects, preferably in the healthcare or AI fields.
• Strong background in data science, AI, machine learning, or digital pathology.
