Responsibilities

• Safely cut, trim, and debone various types of meat (beef, pork, poultry, lamb, etc.) into specified cuts, steaks, roasts, and chops according to customer orders or predetermined guidelines.
• Properly store meat in refrigerators and freezers to ensure freshness.
• Ensure that meat products meet quality standards for appearance, texture, and freshness by inspecting for defects, spoilage, or contamination and discard any damaged products.
• Assist customers with their meat selections, provide expert advice on various cuts, cooking methods, and offer customized cuts to meet specific needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. and follow all sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
• Monitor inventory levels of meat products, report low stock, and assist in ordering supplies.

Prerequisites

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a meat cutter, butcher in a retail environment with Basic Food Hygiene Course (SFAS certified).
• Proficient in meat cutting techniques and knowledge of various meat cuts. Good knife skills and familiarity with cutting tools and equipment.
• Good knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene regulations of Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and NEA, including proper handling of meat, sanitation procedures, and hygiene standards.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when cutting and preparing meat products.
• Able to lift heavy items up to 20kg, stand for extended periods, and work in aircon environment.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
