The Type Rating Instructor (TRI) / Type Rating Examiner (TRE) is responsible to instruct and/or check airline crew converting to Airbus on all operational, technical and performance aspects for a specific type (or types). Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify surface or very near surface discontinuities in a weld or critical area of engine component using Eddy Current and Ultrasonic Inspection.
• Use Portable handheld scanning technique to detect surface and subsurface defects.
• Perform FPI and inspect under UV light for flaws open to the surface such as cracks, laps, etc.
• Perform Binocular Inspection which is capable of viewing up to 40X magnification.
• Monitor the usage and performed calibration on NDT equipment and measuring instrumentation.
