Main Responsibilities

UWCSEA has a vacancy for August 2025 at its Dover Campus for a new position: K-12 Head of English as an Additional Language (EAL). The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of a coherent campus-wide direction for EAL as part of the student support team in line with College strategy.

The K-12 Head of EAL will also hold responsibility for leading and teaching EAL in High School (grades 9-12). Our High School EAL programme consists of dedicated EAL classes that incorporate studies in English language and some literature. In grades 9-10 we offer two courses in EAL and English for academic purposes), and prepare students for enrolment in either English B or English A in the IB Diploma from Grade 11. In Grades 11-12 our EAL learners follow the IB Diploma English B course, at Higher level.

• Lead the EAL team on Dover campus with special responsibility for the High School team

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall daily operations of Building Engineering that includes PSI, PFI and SLA.
• Liaison with clients or ground agencies for on-site inspection works.
• Collaborate with client on new project and prepare cost estimations for tenders or quotations.
• Strategize PSI, PFI, and SLA work schedules, as well as manage manpower and resource allocation.
• Carry out structure inspections to existing building structure or infrastructure to identify defects and repair when required.
• Review, plan and coordinates the operations of a field inspection section and manages inspection projects.
• Provide visionary, leadership and direction within the team.
• Manage quotations processes, filing and follow up on billing payments and invoicing related to Building Inspection.
• Review reports prepared by Engineers/Inspectors/subcontractors, ensuring timely submission within set deadlines.
• Monitor the progress of work for each project and ensure timely submission of progress payment claims to clients on a regular basis.
• Enforce adopted codes and regulations pertaining to building inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Stay updated on new rules, regulations and technical information disseminated through internal communication channels.
• Supervises Building Inspectors/Engineers and Sub-Contractors, including task prioritization, expenses management, leave scheduling, performance evaluations, training and recommendation on hiring, termination, and disciplinary actions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years in a management role
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in project management and inspection processes
• Knowledge of building code and regulations

Responsibilities:

• Solutions delivered on time and on budget.
• Perform maintenance on time.
• Provide timely and satisfactory issues resolutions.
• Conduct training, presentation to internal and external customers.
• Manage internal and external customers.

During System Implementation Phase:

• At site survey to ensure infra and network is in accordance to solutions requirements.
• Install, Configure solutions at sites.
• Manage User Acceptance testing at sites.
• Conduct User training at sites.
• Document handover items for customers at sites.

During Maintenance Phase:

• Ensure all delivered solutions are in operation.
• At site or remote to support and troubleshoot issues related to the delivered solutions.
• At site to perform solutions preventative action, monthly patching or upgrade.
• At site testing and delivery of Samsung devices.
• Work closely with the HQ Technical Support & R&D for critical issues escalation and VOC compilation.

Requirement:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or Information System related fields
• Server and/or cloud certificate is highly preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in network administration, QA testing, software installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge in the use of VM software and system OS (Windows Server, JAVA, Apache Tomcat, Redhat, Ubuntu, etc.).
• Knowledge in the configuration management such as AD, CA, DNS etc.
• Knowledge in the use of database: MSSQL, MYSQL etc.
• Knowledge on Cloud (i.e., AWS, Azure, or similar) and on-premises infrastructure deployment.
• Excellent problem solving, and analytical thinking.
• Good at documentation (specification, user guide creation)
• Excellent communication skills; able to present technical topics to non technical audience.
• Subject to government G50 clearance (compulsory)

Preferred Qualification:

• Knowledge in MDM related solutions and technology (such as Samsung Knox, Android Enterprise, VMWare Workspace ONE, MobileIron, Citrix Endpoint Management, Microsoft Intune, and etc) are a plus.
• Programing and software development skill in Java, XML, HTML, Android development are a plus.
• Project Management experience and/or certificate.
• Experience in designing cloud system environment, able to manage cloud resource with automation.
• Ability to take up a new technology and perform development based on client requirements.
