The Role

The academic coach will need to manage the class and deliver the lesson in a small group size of 6 to 8 students. Apart from managing individual student’s portfolio, you are also required to build rapport with both students and parents, and communicate with parents on their child’s academic progress.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Associate to manage a diverse portfolio of clients comprising 100 companies based in Singapore and 50 special-purpose entities (SPCs) for Japanese domestic businesses. This role demands a strong understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles, as well as the ability to handle the unique requirements of multinational clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management: Oversee the end-to-end accounting and bookkeeping functions for a portfolio of 100 Singapore-based companies and 50 Japanese SPCs.
• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial statements, tax filings, and other statutory compliance documents in adherence to Singaporean and Japanese regulations.
• Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing queries and providing insights into financial performance.
• Financial Oversight: Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in all financial records and reports.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and bookkeeping processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
• Cross-Border Collaboration: Liaise with Japanese clients and stakeholders to understand and fulfill specific accounting requirements for SPCs.
• Team Support: Mentor junior team members and support the broader team in achieving departmental goals.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping, preferably with exposure to multinational or cross-border portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of Singaporean accounting standards and familiarity with Japanese financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle a high volume of clients effectively.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients in English; proficiency in Japanese is an advantage.
