Founded in 2007, American Education LLP (AE) is the first professionally organized independent educational consultancy in Singapore. Our Consultants provide independent advice and counselling to students who seek to gain admission to their targeted universities/colleges in the US, Canada, and the UK. They are certified bythe University of California (UCLA and UC Irvine) as Independent Educational Consultants. All of them are also members of the US-based Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) which sets standards for the educational consulting industry in best practices including ethical guidelines.
The Business Development Executive is a significant member of the Company's growth strategy and will be responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients and driving revenue growth.
Report to: Managing Partner and Senior Manager, Sales with cross collaboration with Consultants during Initial consultation
Responsibilities
Business Development
· Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, conducting market research, and prospecting potential clients via online (AE website) and offline leads.
· Actively build relationships with prospective clients by being their responsive, first point of contact in any of their queries
· Actively participate in initial consultation with the Consultant with aim of getting Prospective Client to sign up for the Company’s services.
· Work closely with Client during the contract sign-up and processing of first payment
· Conduct periodic check-ins with clients to ensure that their engagement with Consultants are proceeding smoothly
Reporting and operations support
· Develop and maintain trackers for Consultants’ contact points (frequency and details of discussions) with clients and prospective clients (starting with Initial Consultation).
· Track and report to Consultants referral sources of new business
· Manage databases of prospective clients’ and current clients’ information and internal files of contracts and payments by clients.
· Track and prepare periodic report on capacity for new business in each ‘class/cohort (by year)’ of students applying to universities
· To work with vendors to generate invoices to be sent to client, track revenue and expenses and participate in the quarterly financial statements preparation work.
· To liaise with external IT service provider for the Company’s website maintenance, and ensuring that the licensing registration, renewal are done timely when license expires.
Requirement
· Good working knowledge of college admissions at universities in the US, Canada, and the UK, preferably a graduate of a university or college in the US, Canada or the UK.
· Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and sales collateral to effectively communicate the value proposition and capabilities of the Company
· Demonstrated track record of success in a sales or business development role, preferably with experience in a commission-based environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with intuitive consultative skills when supporting Consultant Counsellors fielding queries from clients.
· Ability to present and explain ideas to a variety of audiences
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work under pressure
· Strong customer service skills
· Ability to sell value and create credibility
· Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Work Arrangement
Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 6pm with 1 hr lunch break
Work location: Work from home and/or co-working space location
Career Progression
A successful (based on performance evaluation) Business Development Executive is eligible for on-the-job training and external certification as an Independent Educational Consultant
