RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Execute and implement the Banking strategy and business initiatives.
- Execute the business process change and strategic initiatives agenda
Business
- Execution and delivery of the global Banking agenda locally.
- Partner with support functions and stakeholders to unblock any business issues.
- Be the “connector” between global and local and export best practices.
- Driving and management of a prudent cost culture.
- Hands-on business architecture view to deliver E2E change across the business landscape.
- Conduit between business / ops processes and project teams and technology teams to deliver strategic change.
Processes
- Continuously seek out process simplification and process re-engineering opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Keep up to date with local regulations to assess impact / business opportunities and manage any changes to business processes and infrastructure.
- Deliver process simplification and enhancements as part of BAU management.
- Assist with quantified benefit collation and analysis.
Risk Management
- Identify, assess and mitigate operational risks in ASA Region.
- Execute controls, monitor, report and escalate operational risks, where appropriate.
- Manage Delivery Risk Assessment across strategic initiatives
- Track project milestones to ensure timely delivery or risk escalation as needed
Governance
- Provide support to ensure effective governance of Banking.
- Ensuring staff adhere to internal and external processes and procedures, and governance practices.
- Support the ASA business in supervising and coordinating in-country audits within the ASA Region.
- Provide business support on premises management, eg. capacity planning, business continuity, access controls, Service Level Agreements, licensing, etc.
- Effective back up to represent team in governance forums and present updates on change initiatives.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Our Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years experience into Non-Financial Risk management and governance
- Business enablement through change and facilitating effective discussions and problem-solving between business and functions.
- Providing E2E oversight and influencing decisions required to deliver strategic initiatives.
- Act as Analyst / Change agent / project manager as needed for delivering change initiatives.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
- Working knowledge of the Banking business
- Networking and influencing skills.
- Analytical skills to sieve through noise and identify core areas to be addressed.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance and in an evolving environment.
