Hope Ambulance provides Emergency Ambulance Service and Medical Transport Service, as well as First Aid training, Medical Event Coverage and Medical Evacuations across land, sea and air.
As a paramedic, you will provide pre-hospital care and lead an ambulance crew to deliver emergency medical response. You must be able to assess patients, exercise the principles of triage and provide emergency medical care for patient at scene or in ambulance during conveyance. .
You may be assigned to other projects depending on operational needs, and there are opportunities to take on Trainer roles to educate members of the public on first aid techniques. Career upgrades and prospects in other fields of emergency services (eg. air ambulance, sea rescue, event medical support and training) are available for suitable and qualified candidates.
Job Responsibilities
- Effectively assess patients, exercise principles of triage and render treatment to patients
- Provide advanced emergency medical and pre-hospital life support, with the ability to use specalist equipment like ventilators and defibrillators to treat patients when needed.
- Prepare reports such as Casualty Logs, Conduct vehicle and inventory stocking and maintenance for each unique project
- Lead ambulance crew in daily duties and ensure compliance with SoPs
- Communicate with healthcare partners, patients, and members of public effectively
Position Requirements
- Paramedic Level III / Level 3 Paramedicine Certification
- Higher NITEC in Paramedic & Emergency Care (ITE)
- UPEC-Accredited Paramedic
- Diploma with at least 3 years’ experience in pre-hospital emergency care OR Diploma in Nursing / Degree in Nursing with at least 2 years’ nursing experience
- Possess good leadership skills while being a team player
- Able to work under challenging situations independently and with integrity
- Good command of written and spoken English. Multilingual ability is an added advantage
- Physically fit with good stamina, and able to commit to irregular shift-work, including weekends and public holidays
- Registered Nurses with A&E / ICU experience an advantage
