Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Define requirements and features for semiconductor equipment
• Develop concepts and architecture of new equipment
• Design mechanical systems which involve the selection and use of motors, actuators, gear drives, pumps and valves.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings
• Perform design verification and validation testing to ensure compliance with specifications, safety regulations and product requirements.
• Improve design of legacy machines
• Application of analysis tools like Fish Bone Diagram, FMEA etc.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
• More than 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment design
• Good knowledge and experience in the following areas :
  1) Design of automation or semiconductor equipment
  2) High precision machine design
  3) Design of High Speed Pick and Place mechanisms
• Familiar with 3D CAD software
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate throughout the project cycle
• Equipment troubleshooting skills
• Ability to produce detailed Mechanical drawings and apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

Job Description:

• Analyse client needs, scope problems, and develop business cases to address them.
• Document requirements, source, and evaluate alternatives, and recommend suitable solutions that best aligns with specific client needs.
• Collaborate with client and application vendors for solution design and to seek clarification and acceptance.
• Design, develop, and deliver software applications that satisfies customer expectations.
• Improve software quality using XP practices, including code review and unit testing.
• Prepare architectural and other technical documentation.
• Assist Business Analysts with user stories elaboration.
• Support QA teams with test automation and bug fixes.
• Assist DevOps teams with build and release automation.
• Work with Client users to ensure smooth deployment and adoption of new solutions.
• Assess business needs for service requests and the impact of enhancements to the system.
• Evaluate problem resolution approaches and implement effective recovery plans for ICT incidents, establishing processes to prevent recurrence.
• Understand IT management policies, quality management policies, and security guidelines to ensure compliance in development processes.

Job Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• Prior experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Proficiency in front end technologies such as Angular.
• Prior experience in backend technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js.
• Proven experience in low code application platforms such as Pega.
• Knowledge in one or more of the following processes: agile processes, continuous integration/deployment, cloud/PaaS platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), serverless frameworks, and container technology like Docker would be an added advantage.
• Prior experience with low code development and wireframing tools such as Figma
• Familiarity with unit testing.
• Additional advantageous traits include being self-driven, independent, strong problem-solving skills, good communication, interpersonal skills, and excellent presentation and listening abilities.
• Hands-on experience with at least one full project development lifecycle in Pega.
• Relevant professional certification in Pega is a plus.
• Prior experience in Agile and UX development environments is an added advantage.
• Advantageous skills include consulting or business analysis experience, knowledge of system solutioning for mid/large-scale projects, understanding of web services, REST APIs, sFTP, and security concepts.
• Extensive experience in defining UAT test scenarios and facilitate SIT and UAT tests.
• Ability to define system interface specifications.
