Job Title: Contract Staff Member – R&D Portfolio Analyst
Location: Singapore
Duration: 12 months contract
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join the Biomedical Sciences Industry Partnership Office on a contract basis to support our office in conducting a comprehensive scan of Singapore's public R&D capabilities, assets, and technologies. This role is pivotal in engaging with public R&D organizations, principal investigators, and technology transfer offices and other relevant stakeholders to gather insights, with the goal of creating a detailed portfolio oversight. The outcomes of this work will enable our office to better facilitate impactful public-private R&D partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct an in-depth scan of public R&D capabilities, assets, and technologies across Singapore.
· Map the research focus areas, technology readiness levels, and innovation strengths of public R&D organizations.
· Initiate and manage discussions with PIs and relevant stakeholders to gather detailed insights into ongoing projects, capabilities, and strategic priorities.
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with public R&D stakeholders to ensure the success of the project.
· Organize and synthesize collected data into a cohesive portfolio that highlights key capabilities, technologies, and collaboration opportunities.
· Identify strategic assets that align with our department’s mission to foster public-private partnerships.
· Develop comprehensive reports and presentations detailing findings, insights, and recommendations.
· Provide actionable data to inform the department’s strategy for facilitating partnerships and enhancing engagement with public R&D performers.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, engineering, biotechnology, or a related field.
· Prior experience in research, R&D portfolio analysis, or technology transfer.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
· Excellent research and analytical skills, with an ability to distil complex information.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Advanced degree (eg, Master’s or higher) in life sciences, engineering, or a related field.
· Possess good knowledge of Singapore’s public research ecosystem, including key institutions and their strategic focus areas.
