Position Summary
The Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment. This role involves managing reservations, seating arrangements, and ensuring a positive dining experience through excellent customer service and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Reception
• Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Confirm reservations and assist walk-in guests with seating arrangements.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
2. Seating Management
• Maintain and manage an organized seating chart.
• Ensure efficient seating flow during peak hours to optimize table turnover.
• Coordinate with servers to balance workloads and maintain smooth service.
3. Reservations and Waitlist
• Handle phone and online reservations, including confirming and updating bookings.
• Manage the waitlist during busy periods and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
4. Guest Assistance
• Answer guest inquiries about the menu, special events, or restaurant policies.
• Assist with special requests such as birthday setups or dietary accommodations.
• Handle any guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and escalate if needed.
5. Atmosphere and Ambiance
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance, waiting area, and hostess station.
• Ensure the dining area maintains a welcoming and presentable appearance.
6. Team Collaboration
• Communicate with the kitchen, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.
• Support other team members during busy periods as needed.
