In this role you are required:
1. Ensure efficient sorting, retagging and/or tagging of bags and thereafter, transferring them to correct trolleys and containers.
2. Check and ensure that containers and doors/flaps are properly secured and baggage is towed to the correct aircraft on time. All Baggage Delivery/Acknowledgement Forms and Container Record Cards must be completed and submitted.
3. Notify and alert the BS when there is less than minus 15 minutes to estimated time of departure (ETD) for baggage dispatch to the aircraft.
4. Notify and alert the BS as when there is an exceptionally large/odd sized baggage or a trolley load of loose baggage to be sent at minus 30 minutes to ETD to the aircraft.
5. Brief all contract staff assigned to the flights on their duties and special requirements for the flights.
6. Ensure that all discharged baggage is accurately, properly and speedily offloaded onto the correct arrival conveyor belts. Ensure that transit baggage is reloaded into the transfer containers.
7. Record the baggage presentation times for all flights allocated to the arrival conveyor belts. Press the first and last buttons of the Baggage Message Input System (BMIDS) for the recording of the baggage presentation times.
8. Ensure that all fragile and odd-sized items are handled with care.
9. Oversees the prompt and efficient presentation of passengers’ checked baggage on arrival claim without undue delay.

10. Ensures all mishandled, unclaimed and offloaded baggage (including items found and security items retrieved from passengers) be restored and returned to its rightful owners expeditiously.

11. Lodge all arrival claim reports and reply to investigation on complaints

12. Liaise with CAAS on discrepancies encountered at the baggage claim areas and SOCC on delays on baggage presentation

13. Assist with customer enquiries and grievances

14. Ensure all bags removed timely from arrival belts to ensure no incidents of bags overflowing from arrival belts

15. Perform any other adhoc duties

Operational Excellence

• Supervise and support Ground Handling Agent teams dedicated to Cathay flight operations to achieve operational excellence of being on time and error free
• Assist to implement innovative ideas and strive to do things differently and better in all aspects of airport operations
• Assist in ensuring and maintaining operational and productivity performance conformance to standards
• Support airport management to conduct regular
• Quality Control checks on station performance including provision of service by suppliers as required

Represent Cathay interests in the Airport Community

• Support the Airport Operations Manager to work with external parties in the best interests of the Company – authorities, suppliers and service providers, Oneworld Partners, and other airlines
• Ensure competition compliance involvement in airport-related industry affairs (i.e. AOC)

Requirements:

Academic Qualifications

• Post-secondary school education is desirable
• High school graduation

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

• Good command of written and spoken English is mandatory with the local language being an advantage
• 1-2 years solid Customer Service experience, preferably in airlines or airport services
• Ability to work independently with good decision-making skills
• Self-motivated and committed leader who enjoys teamwork
• Strong customer service mentality with strong interpersonal skills
• Good technical knowledge and capability (multi-skilled) to perform each airport job function (requirement to pass all training arranged by ASD)

The Scheduling Analyst / Senior Analyst will look at operationalizing the network plan by ensuring that schedule changes are executed accurately and all stakeholders and downline systems are updated with the latest schedules. The incumbent will also look at existing processes and work flows and make recommendations for enhancements and automation.

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate schedule changes with other departments to ensure that all passengers are notified in time and that all relevant stakeholders are informed about the schedule change
• Ensure that schedules are correctly loaded into various downstream platforms
• Handle passengers' re-accommodation based on established SOP and troubleshoot issues as and when they arise
• Resolve system related issues, including providing business case for required enhancements
• Regularly update and distribute operational and marketing schedules to internal and external stakeholders
• Keep updated and share with team on system functions and process changes that can help with scheduling work

Requirements

• Prior work experience in an airline network planning /scheduling related work will be an asset
• Experience using Navitaire or other schedule management systems preferred but not mandatory
