About the Role
Our Forensic Litigation and Consulting segment in Singapore provides multinational corporations, legal counsel, financial institutions, and other organizations with information required to make well-informed business decisions. Our team is retained to advise in multi-jurisdictional business transactions and investments, regulatory inquiries, compliance issues and are involved in complex, global, and high-profile litigation, arbitration, and investigation. We combine end-to-end risk advisory, investigative, and disputes expertise to deliver holistic solutions for our clients.
Specifically, the Business Intelligence team conducts research and investigations to uncover actionable intelligence and performs value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, and make informed investment decisions to maximize opportunities.

Position Summary
As a Director in the team, you will be required to take a leading and proactive role in drafting scopes of work designed to achieve engagement objectives, manage engagement teams, and ensure that our work is executed efficiently and effectively. The position requires a highly motivated problem solver with solid analytical ability, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organization.
You will have the ability to work autonomously, while keeping the engagement leader informed of project progress. You will provide coaching to junior team members, listen to others’ input and accept coaching from peers and senior team members.
Your responsibilities will also include business development and achieving client satisfaction in all aspects of the client relationship and a high level of professional service in every element of the business.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Singapore-based Senior Managing Director, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Ensure the efficient management of complex assignments throughout Asia including the writing and submitting of proposals and reports, and supervision of all services related to the assignment (in house research and analysis, field work, etc).
- Maintain and further expand subject-matter expertise and deep knowledge of business-politics landscapes in Asia, particularly mainland China and Southeast Asia.
- Contribute to the maintenance and expansion of FTI’s human source network.
- Proactive identification of new sources of information, research tools and approaches, as well as managing of these resources to achieve high quality and cost effectiveness.
- Develop the business by promoting the company, identifying new clients and generating opportunities through marketing initiatives.
- Achieve client satisfaction in all aspects of the client relationship and a high level of professional service in every element of the business.
- Proactively identify new sources of information, including research tools and human sources, as well as managing of these resources, to achieve high quality and cost effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships between the different business practices and offices, including operational support as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 6-8 years investigative experience in business intelligence, investigative due diligence, and corporate investigations; candidates with more experience will be considered at Senior Director level.
- A first or upper-second honors degree or higher, with evidence of continued professional or vocational learning.
- In-depth industry knowledge and investigation experience gained from a professional services environment.
- Excellent understanding of the complexities of economic, regulatory, political and security matters and their effect on the business environment within Asia.
- Prior international work experience/travel or experience working as part of a global dispersed and diversified team is an advantage.
- Proven ability in a business development role and a history of bringing in new clients and generating revenue is preferred.
- Flexible team player with demonstrable experience in managing and prioritizing a demanding workload, and to undertake any task (regardless of its complexity or level of challenge) in order to ensure that an assignment is completed within a fast-paced and dynamic operational setting.
- Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory position.
- Strong oral and written communication skills essential. Second regional language sought (e.g. a working knowledge of Southeast Asian languages an advantage).
- Travel may be required to clients and to FTI office(s) within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Candidate with more experience in Business development and revenue generation may be considered as Senior Director.
