About the Company: We are a dynamic hedge fund specialising in Japan
investments, focusing on generating strong risk-adjusted returns. With a core
commitment to excellence in market analysis and operational precision, we are
seeking an Operations Analyst or Operations Manager (depending on experience) to
support our Japan-focused fund operations.
Role Overview: This position will play a key role in supporting the efficient and
accurate operations of the fund’s market activities. Assisting the Head of Operations,
this role offers exposure to the end-to-end trade lifecycle, portfolio reconciliation,
compliance, and market-specific regulatory adherence. This is an excellent
opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hedge fund operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Support: Ensure timely and accurate booking of trades, trade confirmation,
and settlements for the Japan market. Liaise with counterparties, brokers, and prime
brokers to resolve any discrepancies.
Reconciliation: Conduct daily cash and position reconciliations to ensure portfolio
accuracy, investigating and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Corporate Actions: Monitor corporate actions and ensure all entitlements and
adjustments are correctly applied.
Performance & Reporting: Assist in compiling performance reports, NAV
calculations, and other fund metrics. Ensure reporting accuracy and support Head of
Operations in ad-hoc reporting requests.
Data Management: Maintain accurate portfolio data and assist in managing internal
databases, ensuring timely updates and data integrity.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with the operations team to identify and
implement efficiencies in operational processes, contributing to continuous
improvement initiatives.
Audit: Assist with internal and external audit
Regulatory Compliance: Assist with meeting regulatory reporting requirements
specific to MAS and stay updated on relevant requirements in the future.
MAS reporting: Assist in various forms submission
Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with internal departments including investment and
trading to address any operations-related needs and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Experience: 1-6 years of experience in financial operations, trade support, or fund
administration preferred. Exposure to the Japanese market is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with portfolio/order
management systems is a plus.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English (verbal and written), Japanese is a plus but
not required.
Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail with an analytical mindset to investigate
and resolve issues effectively.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work across
different teams and with external parties.
