Job Summary:

Our client is a leading insurer. We are seeking a motivated Underwriting Analyst to support operations and underwriting-related projects within the new business team.

In this role, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to deeply understand the operational aspects of the underwriting role while also actively contributing to process and systems improvements that will impact the wider team and business.

You will work closely with senior underwriters, project managers and various other stakeholders to support project execution, ensure deadlines are met, and assist with implementing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Underwriting Analysis:

• Risk Assessment: Review and analyze insurance applications, assess risk factors, and validate documents such as financial reports, claims history, and other underwriting-related data to aid decision-making.
• Documentation: Work with other departments and stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete supporting documentation is collected for successful insurance applications.
• Service Excellence and Accuracy: Provide exceptional service to all internal and external stakeholders, including clients, brokers, and other departments. Ensure clear and effective communication, timely responses, and a customer-focused approach in all interactions, while ensuring a high level of operational accuracy in tasks executed.
• Data Evaluation: Evaluate underwriting data and prepare reports, identifying trends and providing key insights that support underwriting decisions.
• Policy Review: Ensure that insurance policies adhere to company guidelines and flag discrepancies for review or correction.

Project Support:

• Project Implementation: Provide support to project managers and senior underwriters in the implementation of underwriting-related initiatives, such as process improvements, system enhancements, or tools integration.
• Process Documentation: Help document new procedures and processes that arise from ongoing projects. Assist in the creation and maintenance of training materials and project documentation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., IT, operations) to support the technical and operational needs of underwriting projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 1-3 years of experience in underwriting or insurance-related roles.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand underwriting data and dependencies.
• Some experience with assisting in project-related tasks, contributing to user journeys, documenting backlogs and supporting User Acceptance Testing Activities will be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast paced team environment.

Job Scope:

The Project Manager needs to have strong management, presentation and communication skills with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager on Finance and banking-related applications. He/She will work closely with the business users to understand the project, estimate, plan, execute, monitor and control the project. Manage the user and team relationship throughout the projects. He/She should be very good at stakeholder management. Good to know about banking domains and activities (Front Office, Back Office, Trading) especially in the Wealth Management area.

Knowledge and experience in the Credit and Risk functions in the Wealth Management (Private Banking).

Responsibilities:

• Define the project scope, objectives, and goals
• Estimation and budget follow-up
• Preparing task list with schedule and identify the risks
• Assigning tasks to team members, overseeing the work, and managing the issues.
• Understand the release process and tools and follow the bank standards and policies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams
• Follow-up on delivery from contributor as well as own development team.
• Make sure methodology and processes are respected
• Produce clear and comprehensive status reports
• Produce Steering Committee documents and present to Sponsors
• Understand user’s requirements/concerns
• Ensure good quality of the documentation
• Coordinate with multiple Technical teams, Infrastructure and testing teams to deliver the projects

Residence Assistant

(Live In Position – Fixed term)

Your Role

EF Singapore is looking for an amazing person to work as live-in Residence Assistant in our Residence at Chancery Court.

As a Residence Assistant you will live on-site with our EF students, providing general support and assisting with room checks, check ins and check outs.

Your main job is to make sure that the residence feels like a ‘home away from home’ for international students. This is an exchange of services. In return for your role as an RA, you have free accommodation living in the residence. Below you can find a list of some of the duties you can expect.

Mid-week duties are light and approximately 2-4 hours per week. Weekends are the main hours. Approximately 2 hours on a Saturday assisting with check outs & hours on a Sunday will vary, assisting with check ins.

Hours each week will vary depending on the number of students leaving and arriving.

The duties as a Residence Assistant include:

· Checking that rooms are ready, clean and available for arriving students (bed making & quick surface cleaning required)

· Meeting & greeting new students on arrival

· Assisting with checking in & taking students to rooms

· Informing arriving students about rules and fines (community standards)

· Regularly checking rooms to ensure facilities are in good condition & being well maintained & cleaned

· Curfew checks for U18s

· Ensuring that reported maintenance issues are dealt with efficiently by residence staff

· Assisting students with problems

· Ensuring that residence rules are being adhered to and report all issues to residence manager

· Liaising with Staff responsible about any issues or problems

· Liaising with the Residence Staff, organizing and partaking in weekly activities

· Run activities at the residence

· Reminding departing students of leaving date & procedures

· Ensuring check out rooms bed linen is ready for collection
