- Oversee all aspects of claims servicing within the Marine department in Singapore and ensuring claims service levels are up to client’s expectations and in compliance with company's Global Standards of Excellence.
- Working with members of the team to develop and implement a robust marine claims framework including standardization of claim documents and taking ownership to sell company’s marine claims as a key value-added service to clients, prospects and network partners.
- Be willing to undertake regional travel to meet with prospective clients, producers and Cedants including presenting on hot button claim issues to produce new leads, opportunities or emerging trends for the team
- Regularly engaging with key stakeholders in the claims process i.e. claim managers, surveyors, adjusters and lawyers to forge good relationships as well as keep ahead of market trends and initiatives in the marine claims space
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years’ experience as a claims handler preferably in Indonesian Hull / P&I claims or similar role at shipowner’s or in the maritime insurance industry.
- Education Qualifications of Degree or higher
- Any legal background will be highly favoured
- Good written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills. Being bilingual in an Asian language will be an advantage and Bahasa is a plus.
- Good time management and adherence to timelines / deadlines
- Positive work attitude, meticulous and have a good sense of integrity
- Versatile and open-minded, able to think laterally when looking at opportunities, challenges from multiple perspectives
- Highly motivated team player and resourcefulness
