Job Purpose:

The Event Executive supports the Event, Marketing and Business Development (EMBD) Manager with event-related matters which includes: events planning, coordination and implementation during events.

2. Oversee the following Departments/Programmes Duties: Deaf Education Dept, Deaf Access Dept, Award Vetting Panel, Corporate Affairs Dept (Corporate Communications/Media)

2.1 To ensure that quality services and programmes are delivered to clients and members of SADeaf; and review policies pertaining to the welfare of staff and volunteers, including manpower/staffing needs, training and supervision

2.2 To supervise and monitor that expenses are within budget.

2.3 To ensure that targets and funding of programmes are achieved.

2.4 To review and ensure the relevance of services and programmes for clients.

3. Corporate Affairs and Public Relations Duties

3.1 To review and ensure supervise the status and benefits of the members are relevant and maintained.

3.2 To supervise the publication of the Newsletter (Signal).

3.3 To handle complaints from staff, clients and volunteers, of any nature, in accordance with the SOP.

3.4 To provide leadership support for events/projects such as fundraising and programmes.

3.5 To oversee the Corporate Communications department in ensuring the SADeaf newsletter (Signal and social media website, Facebook and other online platforms) are updated.

4. Special Projects and Support to the Executive Director

4.1 To implement the decisions and directives of the Executive Council and major committees.

4.2 To assist the Executive Director on ad hoc projects and programmes of the SADeaf.

4.3 To assist in the overall reporting and liaison with National Council of Social Service (NCSS), Ministries, corporate sponsors and other external agencies on matters pertaining to the SADeaf.

5. To provide support in the development of the organisation's vision and mission, and strategic plans within budgets to achieve them.

6. To ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with best practices and the Code of Governance is being complied.

7. To deputise the Executive Director and cover the duties of the supervisees in their absence.

8. Any other reasonable and lawful duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualification & Experience

Armed with some volunteering experience in the Deaf community or social service sector, you would possess at least a Bachelor Degree and have been in a management role in the social service sector for at least 3 years.

Having working experience with the Deaf community and being proficient in sign language would give you an advantage in landing in this meaningful position.

Requirements:

1. Degree/Diploma in Events Management or equivalent
